Frankly I'm shocked there's no option for Morris Dancing. How can any country be great when its citizens spend their time skipping around with bells on their ankles and waving tissues in the air?

Failing that, I agree with Buzzer's earlier comment that the real rot set in when they started putting cheese & onion and salt 'n' vinegar crisps in the wrong packets. If that isn't a reason to bring back the death penalty, I don't know what is...

And why do woman over the age of 21 and over size 10 wear crop top T-shirts.

All we ever seem to read about on NSC these days is how the country has gone down the pan. So what's the cause?
england or Japan???

I've not seen many threads on NSC about how Japan is going down the pan.

April 18 (Bloomberg) -- A leading Japanese manufacturer of
toilets which offer warmed seats and an automatic cleansing
function is blaming defective Chinese parts for the recall of
180,000 units that are liable to burst into flames, the London-
based Times reported.
Although no injuries have been reported, Toto Ltd. has been
inundated with complaints from owners and users of its
``Washlet'' model, who have described their anguish as the
toilet unit has burst into flames just after they have finished
using it, the newspaper said.
Toto says the controls and wiring which provided a burst of
cleansing water followed by drying warm air, assembled by a
supplier in Shanghai, are faulty and overheated wiring can cause
the plastic seats to first melt, then burst into flames, the
newspaper said.
Foreign visitors to Japan are frequently confused by a
bewildering array of electronic switches on many Japanese
lavatories, unable to differentiate between the flush and bidet
functions, labeled in Japanese script, the London Times
reported.

The downfall of this country is people over the age of 40 going on about how good it was in their day.

There's a combination of reasons for why this country has changed but downfall ? What downfall would that be then ? Apart from the misguided notion that this country is somehow falling apart that is.

The problem is England just isn't England anymore. I don't want us to rule the Empire again and f*** with other countries, just want us to keep what we do have intact. The good side of England is magnificent and our values and morals are second to none.

I understand that we have to be tolerant of immigrants and they need our help but not at the expense of our values and traditions. England can hold itself with dignity and respect without being bigoted or racist we just need to keep our cultural identity. England can be great.
nibble this is becoming a joke , im finding myself agreeing with you yet again :D

Classy. Give ourselves a little extra disposable income to spend on CRAP, and remove aid which is helping people remain ALIVE.

I can never get my head around the kind of attitude which disregards other humans standard of living as nothing at all to do with us. "Well, if they're starving or being killed by easily curable disease that's their problem really. Give the leftover steak to Sheeba won't you Miriam." :dunce:
india is a NUCLEAR f***ing POWER if they want to spend their money on that, then fine its their decision, but dont expect us to fund their health , education or social programmes.

It hasn't.It has changed.

We no longer "own" the world. The sun sets on the British Empire..We are a little country in a big world, and have the same set of problems that most other post modern western democracies face.

So it's rap music for me.

The two simple answers to that question are:

1. What downfall?
2. Us
