The likes of Cullip compared to Foster, Lawrenson, Stevens, w Young, E Young, Rougvie, even Rollings. Different era very different class

Whilst I agree with Mr. Piltdown's general point, Willie Young!? You have got to be joking? He may have had a fairly succesful career before joining us but he was a crock of shit when he got here. He certainly din't win any international caps at that time. Were you not at Fratton Park, when we were 1-0 up at half time, before Willie single-handedly gave away FIVE goals in the second half?

Probably. All I really remember is that it pissed down the whole time, and the Albion fans in the only uncovered stand got very wet.

All except us who were sitting in the main stand having gotten comps [from Keeley I think]. We were giving it large until half-time, and were then made to feel increasingly uncomfortable during the second half as WIllie Young got to work and the goals started piling up!

How can anyone not have Peter Ward even in the squad. Even if you never saw him play his scoring record for Albion says it all.

(Rant over now.....)

Sorry Gullsworth [and Willie]. You are right, Corrigan was also shocking. Willie was still dreadful though!

Now look little lad, I guess we don't mind 13 year olds posting on here if they have to, but please think before you post.

"Brighton's best ever line up" and then you list players who have played only in the last couple of years??

Only one of those, Bobby Z, is likely to be in a best ever squad.

This looks a cracking side i would just swap grummit for Beeney and williams for Chapman and Sidwell on the bench instead of Nelson.

With due respect to everybody who has cri tisised surrey13 if that is his age, then he can only state what he has seen and believes to be the best that he has seen with encouragement he may go on to support the club for many years like myself now nearing 60.

My best would be, and a lot will say who was he,

Eric Gill

Gary Stevens
Steve Foster
Mark Lawrenson
Mel Hopkins or Jimmy Langley

Tony Towner
Brian Horton
Denis Mortimer
Dave Turner or Peter O Sullivan

Ian Mellor
Peter Ward.

I do not believe that Ian Mellor was better than Bobby Zamora but playing with Peter Ward they were a very good foil for each other.

Manager: Alan Mullery the only man to take us into what is now the Premiership.
