Way out west
Read the Times, used to read the Guardian at school and then the Telegraph until about 10 years ago, there was a strike and the paper was unavailable for a while, switched to the thunderer and have never looked back. I like their sports coverage, the general and World news plus the financial pages, can't imagine reading anything else now, though I must say that if there is any paper lying around I will pick it up and browse through.

Whichever paper I read I always take what they print with a pinch of salt, don't forget it is the editor who decides what is printed in there, on which subject I would rather use my hand than the Daily Mirror if the Andrex ran out...

Torygraph seven days a week. A good cryptic crossword that I can do, so it makes me look clever in the smoking room, and an excellent sports section with an albion supporting senior writer.

I have read The Times since it became available in tabloid format.

The broadsheets are impossible to read without going into a giant room with nothing else in it, and even then the potential to break your spine turning the page is there, so I don't read them.

The Mail and The Express are nasty right wing nonsense and The Sun and The Star are horrible, horrible rags. The Mirror is okay but very self-righteous and Piers Morgan is possibly one of the poorest human beings ever to walk the planet (yes I know he has gone but his legacy hasn't).

So I guess I read The Times by default. And Simon Barnes and Martin Samuel are superb columnists.

Waitrose in Western Road always hides the Sun down the bottom of the news rack, with the Guardian and Independent always on prominent display.

I take great joy in placing copies of the Mail, the Sun and the Star over the top of these and then watch the organic shoe brigade's look of horror when they realise they might have to buy 'one of those right wing rags'

Wow, your obviously a laugh a minute, bet that really winds all those wooly liberals up, just see their faces crumple as, oh my God, someones put the mail on top of the guardian, how am I going to get through the rest of my life, the horror the horror, yeah really good gag that one.

Independant for me, Robert Fisk, the best foreign reporter. the Mail really is the biigest pile of uninformed prissy paranoid shite ever committed to print.

He's brilliant. I can't think of a newspaper journalist I respect more.

i honestly believe Britain would be a better place if the Mail and the Express were taken out of print.
