The Times. I used to buy the Independent but there is absolutely no coverage of Scottish affairs or football in it so switched to the Times. I am very happy with the new Compact format. much prefer it to Broadsheet. As someone else has already pointed out Martin Samuel is excellent.

I would like to buy the Scotsman but it has gone really downmarket since Andrew Neill took over. It is also overstaffed with Hibbies. The Herald ia a better newspaper up here but too Glasgow focussed for my liking.

I see Rooney is getting a lot of grief in Liverpool about "writing" (yeah, right!) for the Sun. So he should do. Their coverage of Hillsborough was a disgrace.
