I love the smell of stationary shops. Also the smell of garden supply shops (the old Rice Brothers in Haywards Heath for example). I don't think that makes me a DULLARD, just a bit WEIRD.
Yes, the smell of garden supply shops and the like.
I can still remember the smell of Isteds, a bare flooboarded, rather gloomily lit shop in London Road Bognor that sold seeds from large open sacks, plant bulbs, and all kinds of other gardening and hardware paraphernalia, that I can’t recall.
I’m 75 now, but can remember going in there with my mum all those years ago and loving the smell.

I suspect many of us old school cricket lovers may well have dullard tendencies @BrightonLines. In the late ‘60s scoring Sussex games from the top of the stand at the sea end and summer holiday test matches on BBC TV were early signs and a fleeting fascination with 4CIGs, 4VEPs and the like(don’t ask)!

Pedantry could well be another characteristic?

I blame my Dad! I recall he had a notebook in his jacket pocket and would record his car mileage each week and/or after refuelling. What chance did I have?

I think there may be quite a few on NSC tbf
I used to read old pre war books on cricket tours undertaken all those years ago, together with any other ancient cricket books, including Wisdens, I could find in dusty old secondhand bookshops. I have got a copy of ‘My Cricketing Life’ by Don Bradman, complete with his autograph.

Some half alive morons think football is dull.

I enjoy researching travel itineraries/logistics, that I might not necessarily have any use for

Ooh that’s one I really enjoy. If I’m going somewhere new I often look up the road layout at certain key junctions on streetview. Thing is I’m a confident driver/traveller so I’m not doing it as I’m nervous. I’m doing it as I enjoy the planning part. Same with train journeys: checking at the different options for changes what the slight gains might be for each combination.

I’m rather obsessed with the Countdown app. Top score 124, 55 on quick play.

Also obsessive about the dishwasher. I love loading strategies.

I make dullard lifestyle choices:

- Don't drink alcohol
- Don't take drugs
- Don't smoke
- Don't have tattoos, piercings or any other form of body modification

I enjoy dullard tasks:

- Sweeping the driveway free of leaves
- Stacking the dishwasher
- Keeping the house tidy

I have dullard interests:

- local history and architecture (particularly industrial archeology)
- running
- discovering as much as I can about our home
- cryptic crosswords

I have dullard friends who I'm very thankful for, including:
- @El Presidente

And do you know what, I'm very happy with my life.

I wouldn't say having an autobiography of one of the greatest cricketers ever should be classed as Dullardism!
I’m going to become a dullard, I’m going to start collecting old maps.
And this certainly isn't Dullardist. I give talks about old roads and the such-like - and I can put up loads of photos of various stuff, but the thing everyone always flocks to and looks at are the old maps of the area.

Darts. As someone who plays darts I know darts players have a terrible habit of explaining to other people about good games they've had. Literally explaining what they hit , which way they went on a check out etc. Its dull listening to it if you play darts, i imagine it must be one of the worst things in the world to listen to if you have no interest in darts.

Same but with electricians. I’m not sure what it is about electricians, do they get special lessons on how to be condescending to the rest of humanity?

(I know one electrician in real life who did work on our house and he isn’t in any way condescending but every other electrician I have met has been and every electrician on YouTube is generally always right and everyone else wrong and potentially so dangerous that people can die if you dare to change a light bulb)

Sometimes I wish I was a dullard when it came to sorting out my accounts.
Tools - all clean and tidy.
My paperwork - a complete mess.
You have summed up so many self employed tradesman me included. If every supplier emailed the receipts like Screwfix and Toolstatiom do things would be a lot easier.

I know what you mean, the ones on you tube are obsessed with finding sub standard work and saying how great they are. I’m a spark and find it nauseating watching the dicks on there.

This is rather off topic, but I used to love walking by the ground coffee shop on George Street. I didn't, and don't, drink coffee much but the smell there was lovely.
