and a 400k striker will be unveiled in a weeks time. Apparently only 4 people know who said striker is (Gus, Tanno, Oatway and Bloom)

Wow it must be a secret. Not even the striker himself knows about it!

You sound like a 5 year old in the playground trying to score points.

Grow up mate and get a life.

Marvellous comment coming from someone who thinks we have a right to know the kitty despite the fact we don't actually own the club or involved in negotiations.

Might as well right down a row of random numbers and stick a pin in them to guess.

I think Gus will loan players for this season with an eye to spending tony to the limit in the summer, I think the team has put Gus on the back foot by getting to christmas in first place. It will make him look bad if he signs a name and it goes pear shaped, Maybe not his fault but as the manager he would cop it anyway.

This. Yes, apparently fans have a right to know based on paying for a ticket. Like i said before, no club is going to tell the fans/press exactly how much they have to spend. I am only 5 years old though, now, where did i leave my Buzz Lightyear?

At what point have I said we have a 'right to know?' I said it was of interest to the fans but I have never said we have a 'right to know'

Get your facts straight before you post eh?

What ever money is available then lets spend it wisely. Think we have a squad that can gain promotion without any extra players.

Look at Kevin Keegan and Newcastle, they were top of the premiership and on a roll and Keegan thought he’d add to the squad and brought that Colombian and it ruined their season.

Sometimes bringing new players in is not always the perfect answer.

Only a fool shows his hand. Bloom knows that better than any of us. I belive he will spend whatever it takes, I got a feeling(well its more than a feeling) we are all about to be blown away, very soon and this board will go into meltdown...

What a ridiculous statement Frutos, as fans of the club any signings we make will directly impact the rest of our season so I would say it is directly our business!!!

At what point have I said we have a 'right to know?' I said it was of interest to the fans but I have never said we have a 'right to know'

Get your facts straight before you post eh?

Just interpreting your statement that it is 'our business' which you made when someone else posted that it wasn't our business.

Does "our business" = "right to know" or simply "right to be interested"?

I agree with what Frutos said early on in the thread, about it not really being our business, despite the fact that people are eager to know...but I reckon we will spend between £250 and £500, probably on one player with maybe a couple more joining on a free or for an undisclosed sum.

Obviously we dont know the amount available probably the only person who does is TB as far as Gus goes it is probably a case of you tell me who you want and I will say whether we can afford it but based on the strikers that we have signed and the money we have reputedly paid for them it will need to be a substantial amount to sign a striker 'gauranteed togain us promotion'.

Clubs like Blackburn have said the manager has £5m do you honestly think that is the ceiling and is it for 1, 2 or 3 players.

I think it is healthy for fans to have a rough idea on spending budgets, it saves on speculation. One player on contract and a couple of loan signings would be good and freshen up the squad for the second have of the season but with two long term injuries to come back they would be like new signings.
The income from the FA Cup has not been budgeted for so I presume we would have this money in the pot to spend.

Spoke with a very good friend of mine who is in the know (or so he says) and he assures me that Noone (no news here) and a 400k striker will be unveiled in a weeks time. Apparently only 4 people know who said striker is (Gus, Tanno, Oatway and Bloom)

I hate speculation, but wanted to share what I had heard. If correct that suggests 650k. Guess we might sell someone to help with this? Murray maybe?

How is your mate in the know then?

He has money to spend, he didn't spend some of the budget at the beginning of the season.

Noone plus a quality striker in.

Murray to leave I'm afraid. (REALLY don't want him to go, but with contract not signed it's looking increasingly likely)
