What does this mean for LYNCH?

I just hope that Slade gets a chance to meet up with Lynch, look into his eyes and see whether he is up for the challenge of pushing for promotion.

Agreed, it would not be fair to drop Elphick for Lynch and I feel that Elphick needs an 'experienced' hand for a bit longer to work with at CB, as he is with Virgo.

From what i have seen (facebook ), both Lynch and Robinson have not been contacted by the club since they have left and they're not that happy about it! Food for thought.

It looks like Slade will get the job - if you believe The Argus - and when he joined he picked out Lynch as one of our talented youngsters.

Could the great man convince Lynch to come back down and play in the stripes?

I would love it if he did. I think Slade could get the best out of him in the same way he has with Cox.

A) Leave Forest and Championship football where he is settled now (forest programme quotes a couple of months ago) - doubt it.

B) Do we want him back? Virgo was immense on saturday, was injured half way through the second half but still battled on.

C) Get 200k for him and get a decent player or two in.

Also, this thread could easily be repeated inserting the name of: "Dixon" "Robinson" "Gargan" "Sullivan" "Mayo" etc etc into the space of "Lynch"

I suspect RS had bigger things to worry about than these loan players. He had a relegation fight to win! I bet they will be contacted shortly. I wonder where Robinson goes from here? I don't think he's good enough for Albion so I think we need to release him to a division 4 club like Aldershot.

Lynch is not "one of our talented youngsters", he has proved careless, dispassionate and arrogant.

Get as much as possible for the guy, but get rid.
Lynch was a very talented player who was prone to f*** ups. I think we all assumed some of those mistakes would be ironed out of his game, but dunno whether that has happened at Forest. Anyway, it's a moot point. We need to sell him because he's unlikely to be motivated to play for the club so we'll never see the best of him.

He is a decent defender. He's not Laurent Blanc in his pomp (despite what some would have you believe), but he's a good defender for this level. If he wants to come back, welcome him back, and let him fight it out for a place with Virgo and Elphick. However, if he doesn't, or if he's not willing to fight for a place, then get as much as we can from Forest and let him go. Simple.

Seconded. Nowhere near as bad at Leon Knight's, say, but a very unhelpful attitude nonetheless. Can't imagine Slade ever having too much truck with Champions League ego matched with 2/3rd Division ability.

RS will want to surround himself with players who would die for the club, alas Lynchy doesnt fit the bill there does he? Seems to have the same attitude as CKR and LK in that he thinks he should be a guarenteed starter or he will feck off somewhere else. Fair play to him because he's done very well at NF and if we can get £200k for him everyones happy in my book.

A mate of mine is a Forest Season ticket holder. He says that Lynch was poor, bordering on liability under Colin Calderwood. When Billy Davies took over he was a different player particularly his crossing and positional sense and was one of their best players in the last quarter of the season.

I’d love to see Lynch back here but the problem is this. Lynch, Virgo, Elphick, Hawkins & Hinshelwood are all Centre backs. We can’t keep all of them happy or playing them out of position (assuming they all stay) .That’s why we had our problems this year - It’s no coincidence that we hit a run of from by playing players in the correct position, something which Adams never grasped. If we can get a few quid for him and strengthen other areas of the pitch it’s not a bad solution all round. In any case, he won’t want to come back here if he has any sense. Championship or League 1? City Ground or Running Track? More money or less money?

Sell him, get some money for him. He doesn't want to be here in any case. He's playing a division higher and it is probably best for his career if he stays there. £250k+ i'd bite their hand off if I was Knight.

I would like to think the fans are clever enough to realise what an asset he would be and forgive and forget.

Although somehow I doubt it...

Is this one of the most misguidedly-patronising posts in the fine history of NSC? It's got to be right up there, at least since the demise of London Irish.
