No but some mates of mine might have been behind the bar that year. They started at GBBF in the mid-1980;s but retired after the first year it transferred from Olympia to Earls Court. I helped at every Olympia event, but like them felt Earls Court was just too much for volunteer staff, the numbers jumped from 40,000 over 5 days to over 70,000 I think. and it got very "Corporatey".

Do they still hold GBBF somewhere nowadays?

Round the back, by the bins.
I saw Blue Oyster Cult at the Hammersmith Odeon years ago and they were truly awful. Played Don't Fear The Reaper twice! The evening was saved by a quick jap across town to see Bo Diddly at Dingwalls. Class.

Oh dear I bloody loved that gig which was on the Eagle Has Landed tour!

Worst gig was Duran Duran at the Brighton Centre. They were not the worst band musically but the sound was awful and then what you did attempt to hear was drowned out by a solid wall of screaming teenage girls for 2 solid hours. And yes I was coerced into attending by girlfriend at time.

Ok , slightly harsh here but they played at MOST 40 minutes and this was the evening after we beat Stockport to stay in league 1 so wasn't feeling angry and hatefilled , that said they were pretty bollocks that night

Forward Russia @ Concorde 2 is probably the only other gig that I've been too where I've left slightly let down

An ex dragged me along to Simply Red about 20 years ago.
Utter shite.

Also had the misfortune to witness Wham, Duran Duran & Paul Young at the Brighton Centre circa 1982/83
