[Albion] West Ham away tickets

Everyone moans about West Ham but I thoroughly enjoy it. Hackney Wick is a great place for a beer, it has numerous transport links and most importantly I guess I've never seen us lose there.

Admittedly, I'm not sure I'd do an evening game there again (last year was an effort) but Saturday at 15.00 is a decent day out.

Don't get off at Stratford and do get out at Hackney Wick is my key advice.

If you can get tickets in the lower tier I think it's a great away.

We usually start in Bethnal Green (great pubs) and make our way into Hackney Wick (through Victoria Park if the weather is decent).

I can see why some think it's shit if they go via Stratford before and after the game.

I'm not that bothered about the Upper Tier either to be honest. Yeah, It's not the greatest view but give me that over Newcastle away. I'm have probably given away body parts for that view at Withdean.

As you say, don't get anywhere near West Hams version of Churchill Square and all is good.

You are not the first to say this, hopefully the club will find out and our stewards who go to away games will be vigilant to this and start to ban a few people as it stops fans who want to attend but don't have the points getting the opportunity due to selfish

it could be that the person bought the ticket with all intentions to go to newcastle didn't make it for a certain reason (could be any number of reasons why) and due to the fact they can't get a refund for the ticket or pass it on to someone else to use they asked their mate to scan the ticket to at least accumulate the points. In this situation it didn't impact someone from not attending. - ANYONE who wanted a ticket for Newcastle away had an opportunity to get a ticket - There is not 100% fair system, someone will always fall the wrong side of where the rules are drawn It would be very difficult to find the " absolute perfect" system , however I feel that on the whole the ticket system and loyalty points has proven to be fair for the majority of people. i'm not sure what else can be done / improved that isn't seen as "draconian"

15 loyalty points is a very insignificant amount to gain for this situation as a one off, however if it was / has been done continually over and over again by the same person then that feels like a different matter..

- just want to add it wasn't me that did this or ever have done this to any games either....

It may not have stopped someone from attending the Newcastle game, but it could have meant that this person ended up in a higher tier for (for example) West Ham and so got a ticket in place of someone else.

I'm not saying the double tapping doesn't happen for no shows - it undoubtedly does - but I tapped in 3 times for Liverpool.

Then I realised I was being a fuckwit and had been trying to get in twice with my son's tickets and I was getting computer says no as he was already inside

Bizarre attitude to following your club! Ticking off stadiums you've been to rather than going because you support the Albion. We have a very good record at WHU so despite it not being the greatest of stadiums for football, results wise and locale, what's not to like.

Not a bizarre attitude at all, not everyone (and this might surprise you) can financially afford and/or get out of commitments such as work or family and therefore have to be selective on where to go.

Now this may come in several guises, is it a day off? travel availability, risk of aggro, the walk from the station, our previous record, do they do a good pie? etc etc and (run for the hills) is it a new stadium to visit?

If it comes to a toss up between West Ham away and let’s say for example Colchester United in the FA Cup this list would come in to play.

Bizarre, is spending thirty quid with no intention of going, just for a few points, these people shouldn’t be allowed money.

Agreed. I have to pick and choose to a certain extent for family and financial reasons.

If it was just about supporting the team and having a good day out with my son and my mates I'd do every game but I'd end up bankrupt and divorced.

West Ham away - an awful ground and heavily over priced, with a route march back to Stratford - just before Christmas when I need to be helping with the preparations is one I've ditched as it was that or Fulham. And Fulham is a ground I really like and the Thursday night has zero familial impact.

The brownie points for missing (ostensibly) a Saturday away game in London should come in very handy in negotiations for Man U and Forest away in the new year.

I don't care for loyalty points other than the convenience of being able to pick and choose these games. Last season showed you can get tickets for the European aways if you want them.

Agreed. I was naive re Europe booking Amsterdam and Athens before tickets went on sale, It worked out ok in the end but was stressful. With hindsight It would have been less aggro to go to Marseilles
