How come after being a member since 2009, have you suddenly become so upset about another persons username. Is it because after the last couple of weeks of flinging insults around, and thinking that UKIP had no chance, you are disappointed and so feel the need to deflect a thread titled "Well Done UKIP.
I would imagine that there are more people that actually live here that are more affected and gutted than you are.
he's got a mahoooooooooooooosive chip on his shoulder Soulman BEEN PROVEN TIME AND TIME AGAIN, HERE'S ONE OF HIS FAVOURITE REPLIES ................... ha ha :)

Why would I have a 'chip' on my shoulders exactly?
I would have thought ANYBODY calling themselves Das Reich has a chip, or is it shit on their shoulders?

To be fair, it is an excellent analogy. Texas was part of Mexico until 1865. When Texas came under political rule from Washington, the dollar was adopted. This is one of the factors which helped shift the mindset of Texans from one of being 'Mexican' to that of a 'US citizen' (along with language, laws etc ...)

Texas and Rhode Island weren't part of the same country originally, but prolonged common use of the same currency, language, laws etc ... helps brainwash the citizens into thinking it has always been.

Let alone citizens of other countries!

Brainwashing eh? Judging from the fervent irrationalilty on this thread, I imagine that in most cases just a little light rinsing does the trick.

I agree with you on most things about the EU dougdeep but i would rather be a state of Russia than the US , even if we don't speak the same language .

If Putin carries on and has his way, you probably soon will be (or your birthplace will be, anyway)

Arn't the pro-European parties still in a majority in the EU parliament though?

True, unfortunately - but their position would be a lot less tenable were in not for the enthusiasm for the EU in the newly joined Eastern European states - the main beneficiaries of EU membership. From the BBC website:

Opinion polls suggest a growth in Euroscepticism across Europe.

In eurozone bailout countries - especially Greece, Cyprus and Portugal - the tough austerity terms imposed by the EU and International Monetary Fund have translated into negative feelings about "diktat" from Brussels.

In many countries, parties that want to reclaim powers from Brussels are more popular than ever. Notable among them is UKIP, which wants to pull the UK out of the EU. France and the Netherlands - founder members of the EU - have also seen a big swing towards Eurosceptic parties.

Negative feelings about the EU also translate into a high abstention rate at European elections. Turnout has fallen at every poll since the first in 1979. Many voters complain that they simply do not understand what goes on in Brussels, so they feel disengaged.

Czechmate is British and Putin is more interested in not being encircled than in expanding Russian territory.
