Wasn't asking in regards to my own health and safety...more in terms of quality of establishment. Will of course be happy to try out the watered down Carling at the stadium but will be in town from about 2pm so...

I assumed you are not Millwall and the like as when looking at the time-lapse of the stadium build a while ago there was no cage running from the train station to the away end...

Seriously fella, and arriving at that time, I wouldn't bank on having too many beers in town. Probably best you make your way to the Amex as both trains and buses will get pretty busy.

Perhaps someone else will say otherwise ?

Agree though the Grand Central had HUGE "HOME FANS ONLY" signs for the Barnsley game. Which will be the first thing a lot of away fans will see :nono:

Could be a bit confusing for the door staff as Wednesday play in blue and white stripes too and loads of fans will have replica tops on.

travel advice needed as well! Need to get a train back to London at 10.20 (from main station)...is this enough time to get from ground to Falmer - Brighton. I'v been told it can be a bit of a nightmare.

cheers

It might be worth looking into going to Lewes rather than back to Brighton, and pick up the Eastbourne - London Victoria train.

Heading down to "good old Sussex by the sea" (sorry have picked this up from my Brighton fan mate who will be travelling down with!!) to check out your new home in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

Not much of a forumite but thought would jump on here to see what you guys think.

Our form speaks for itself I guess having carried some momentum though from last year and added some good signings.

Poyet has obviously got you guys playing a nice brand of football, even if some recent results haven't been great. So should make for a good game.

Annoying that they have moved it to friday as would have filled our end/side, but friday night evening game, would have thought a couple of thousand will make it.

Any recommended drinking holes pre match?

Haha another "our form is so good" Wednesday fan. Just like we were at this stage last season. Going well in the league, going well in the cup.

Early days in this league you can be in the playoffs at xmas and end up nearly being relegated by may. It's a long season.

P.s. glad they moved it. Would have had to miss my wedding otherwise. And my best man is another "isn't our form great" "aren't we doing well" Wednesday fan.

They only brought about 12 fans though so hardly worth a sign!

I like home the club tries to make away fans feel at home.

When palace come down, they do up the away end to look like the jobcentre.

Many pubs within an easy walk of the station.

Queens Road heads straight down to the sea but, if you take the little road to the right 9look for Railway Bell) and you'll find the Evening Star, arguably the best real ale pub in Brighton.

Or, to the right of the station, you can take the road running under the road, trafalgar street, with 4 fine pubs.

Brighton to Falmer is less than 10 mins but you best be heading out there by about 6.30. Remember, local bus & train travel is included in the price of your ticket.

Lewes is also a good option. Only a few mins past falmer on the train (next stop) and some fine Real ale pubs.

I recommend getting to Brighton station by 7:15 at the latest. I think only the Grand Central and Railway Bell are for home fans only all the rest as far as I'm aware will allow you in.

Why is that football fans are so incapable of showing appreciation for any other team . So by your post I am assuming that our form is of no concern to you what so ever. Unless we go to Wimbledon reserves tomorrow and get absolutely hammered, I imagine we will still be in good form when we get to you.

I remember ranting and raving about your form when you got promoted the other year and every Brighton fan I spoke to, to a man, was more than happy to congratulate themselves on their success and admire the revolution under My Poyet. "New manager, new team, new ground" etc etc etc.

Interestingly at no point did I ever mention anything about promotion/playoffs or even finishing in the top half of the table. That's something you have decided yourself based on the opinion of your best man apparently.

In that case....
