Heading down to "good old Sussex by the sea" (sorry have picked this up from my Brighton fan mate who will be travelling down with!!) to check out your new home in a few weeks. Looking forward to it.

Not much of a forumite but thought would jump on here to see what you guys think.

Our form speaks for itself I guess having carried some momentum though from last year and added some good signings.

Poyet has obviously got you guys playing a nice brand of football, even if some recent results haven't been great. So should make for a good game.

Annoying that they have moved it to friday as would have filled our end/side, but friday night evening game, would have thought a couple of thousand will make it.

Any recommended drinking holes pre match?

Some travel advice needed as well! Need to get a train back to London at 10.20 (from main station)...is this enough time to get from ground to Falmer - Brighton. I'v been told it can be a bit of a nightmare.

cheers

10.20 might be a bit tight. Would probably leave a little bit early for that.

Pre match, anywhere in Brighton should be welcoming - or indeed at the ground. Will have a few beers, as well as a Sheffield Ale I believe.

We're not a Millwall or Portsmouth - I think you'll find in 99.9% of pubs if you go in for a pint, even in colours, you'll be welcome. And, TBF, I've never met any of the 0.1% that wouldn't have a pint with an away fan. We're a nice place to come to.

This has reminded me of Bennett's scorcher two years ago.

Seem to remember we were on cruise control that day, and our recently departed diminutive Nandophile had a blinder.

Wasn't asking in regards to my own health and safety...more in terms of quality of establishment. Will of course be happy to try out the watered down Carling at the stadium but will be in town from about 2pm so...

I assumed you are not Millwall and the like as when looking at the time-lapse of the stadium build a while ago there was no cage running from the train station to the away end...

Give us credit! No Carling here. Fosters, Kronenburg, a local ale (Harveys) and should be a Sheffield beer too. Dicks Bar also has a few more choices, but be there for 6pm ish to ensure you get in.

In Brighton, I like the Prince Albert under the station.

firstly you can do us all a favour - remember the game thast sent you down to league 1, well I can assure you on that day every Brighton fan was an honoury wednesday fan, and the then gloating f*ckers from Croydon, now find themselves pointless and potless, ready for your arrival at Selhurst.

Just make sure you give them a really good boot whilst theyre down and you may find the drinks are on us!! is 5-0 to wednesday to much to ask?

We're looking forward to this one, Mongrel, as it's going to be the first time we've had a decent away following since the capacity was increased. If the club follows form, there should be a decent beer, local to you, on tap in the away end, as well as the cooking lager.

Probably worth leaving 5 mins before the end if you have to get that train.

There aint much around the ground at Falmer, but they will haver a local Sheffield beer on tap in your end as well as the other stuff. When you walk out the station, you can go under it on trafalgar street, or straight down queens road/west street, I doubt there will be any trouble.
