Oh sorry I was wrong.
You do watch us, you just know nothing about football.

As the worst examples of Solly's defending you call out those examples?

Christ on a bike!
Way to lose an argument fella.

Saints outside the area (bad VAR decison confirmed by PGMOL)
Villa correct VAR decision as Solly didn't touch the cheating, diving, screaming, scumbag.

I bow down to your supreme knowledge.

Does it matter if it was outside the area? It was a terrible bit of defending.

Correct, it wasn't a penalty vs Villa but it was very risky defending flicking out a leg in the box.

Of all the hills to die on, I am surprised you chose this.

It was you who chose to die on the hill.

If you wish to make the argument that our strikers are poor.
Feel free to make it.

Saying Solly can't defend is just patently wrong.

I haven't bought into the rumours and in-the-know comments about Webster missing the season, although it might happen. Potter has said precisely what you indicated: "he's making good progress, and back after the international break". The positive there is that he'll play for us again, although there's a whole swathe of time after the international break. We'll see when he comes back but, on the whole and hopefully you can agree with this, what Potter says gives us much more to go with than those with unverified or unverifiable sources.

i think he's been pretty forthcoming about injuries all season. but things change - setbacks or recurrence of issues and its not an exact science projecting dates when players will be back if they've been out for a while. but the idea he sits in the press conference deliberately spinning about players likely returns is a bit much. Anyway this thread is webster out for the season. Potter has now said he's not.

Please please let this be true and let the OP come on here with a suitable retraction
Why would I retract what I said in the original post. I had heard rumours and I put a question mark against it.

We still don't know when he will be back so no one is clear on the situation at the moment

fair enough. might be fair to add "Potter says complete opposite" though. because he just did.

Yes. He did. So he’s clearly - according to Potter - not out for the season after all and thus this thread is now misleading to say the least.

In that case - great look forward to seeing him back after the international break. If true sounds like they have decided not to operate and think he can be fixed without. So lets hope this is the right move and doesn't cause any long term problems

I was expecting a riposte. As you're a stickler for accuracy, care to share we're he's said this. Beyond that, I agree.

Compared to some teams we have been pretty fortunate with injuries this season. I can’t believe the Potter lickers are using this injury as the latest excuse to defend his ineptitude.

It is my opinion, backed up with the two examples I gave you.

You're the one who hasn't given any evidence to show that it is one of his strengths...

Your evidence was fairly easily dismissed.

Solly plays as a wingback in the PL.
If he had no strength in defensive duties, Burn would be first choice.
He has been one of our players of the season in a role that requires both defensive and attacking strengths.

To say defense is not one of his strengths is just clearly wrong.

It’s actually bollocks, he’s a better defender than winger imo
