Smoking should simply be banned, everywhere, and that time is coming, soon!
What I don't understand is why smokers don't just stab themselves, why waste time and money waiting to get the inevitable cancer,.

I am an ex smoker and now hate the smoke and smell of people sparking up around me, so having a dedicated area makes perfect sense. When I smoked I would have wanted it, and by having it means that us self righteous non smokers can get on with our smoke free lives in bliss, without leaving the ground after a game and everyone lighting up straight away.

I demand dedicated wanking area.... I cannot possibly go 2 hours without knocking one out..... its my right... how dare you say it is anti social, its a perfectly normal practice.

I'll tell you what they do need to do ant that is STOP letting people have a fag DIRECTLY outside the exits of the North Stand after games. It really is horrible having to walk past loads of people having a fag on the way out all because they cant be bothered to walk an extra 15 yards to stand out of the way.

THIS is one of the reasons to have a dedicated smoking area. It would stop that!!!!

Same in the West Stand. Had to laugh at the woman on the p & r who had to have her ciggy primed and ready for the moment she got off to squeeze in the max smoking time before the Amex. How pathetic they look these days.

Apart for a few fans whining there is no incentive for the club to do it.

If there was a free air vented VIP area on each concourse that permitted smoking and a fee of say £2 for 5 mins, Then the it may be an attractive propersition for them.
Assuming its purely a club decision to not allow smoking and not part of the planning consent.

that was my argument when i emailed the club about the issue over the summer. the official reason (from hebberd) they were banned is that in the clubs view, certain people were using them to cause a confrontation with the stewards.

Neither is riding a motorcycle or flying a kite, but they won't let me do that inside the stadium either, it nothing to do whether its illegal, It the clubs stadium and you enter on their terms and conditions.
These include not riding a motorcycles along the concourse, not flying a kite from your seat and not using an E cig, the actual reason as to why not was given in an earlier posting.

Having said that, have been in airports where they have some quite compact perspex-enclosed area where folks can smoke and the smoke stays enclosed within the area. Would be relatively easy to introduce. Its not the best, but it acknowledges the realities.

You won't find that in any airport in the EU. It would be illegal.
