Some of you are right in pointing out that one of Henderson's problems was that he was not Kuipers.

From my point of view, his biggest flaws were his inability to parry shots to safety which cost us a lot of points and the fact he thought he was much better than everyone else. Handing in transfer requests every five minutes! Also, the management say they preferred him because his distribution was better than Kuipers. Well, I know Kuipers kicking is not great but it has improved, albeit it takes him half an hour to take a goal kick, but I would rather a keeper that stops goals and can't kick as opposed to one that concedes goals but can kick the ball to the other keeper. As for distribution, I will never forget his marvellous header out of defence straight to the feet of Chris Eagles!!!!!

Having watched the video many times I am convinced that had Kuipers not interrupted, Virgo would have put the ball in row z but was knocked out of his stride by Kuipers rushing out as to who called what, who knows only those 2 as there has been conflicting reports on here by people in the know. Some said Kuipers called for it some say he didnt.

The whole point is nether Kuipers or Sullivan yet, is as good as Henderson was.

Spot on.

Best part of the thread is Dean Wilkins in his post match analysis of the Bournemouth defeat.

A f***ing decent, honest man who owned up that we were shithouse on the day. If Adams had done that just once, with no buts or arrogant attitude, he'd have kept the fans and no doubt the players on his side.

This has made me really, really like Dean Wilkins as a person even more than I did. Legend.

In case my post was too long and put people off, here's some interesting goalkeeping stats from the 2006/2007 season:

Kuipers:
Played: 19 ... won 9 ... lost 6 ... drawn 4 ...... win rate: 47.37%

Henderson:
Played: 25 ... won 9 ... lost 13 ... drawn 3 ...... win rate: 36% (Goes up to 40% if you include the millwall penalty shoot out as a win instead of a draw)

Flinders:
Played: 12 ... won 2 ... lost 6 ... drawn 4 ...... win rate: 16.67%)

Henderson is the only keeper I've ever seen take a throw-in in the opposition half...!!
