Class keepers do not make that kind of howler. Average keepers do.

That makes the likes of Shilton, Clemence, Robinson and Seaman all average then.

400 England caps between them and they are all average, no wonder England never win a trophy.

I can't believe some of the extreme views on here.

I would prefer to see FDM in the team, but believe that there is not much between them so I'm not unhappy that Hendo is in the side.

Hendo made the howler yesterday and has made other mistakes this season, but does anyone expect him not to make mistakes? He is a League One keeper and if he were better than that, he'd be at a better club. (I know he's an 'international' but he is third choice for a country that is 49th in the current FIFA rankings. There's a coach driver in Andorra who's an international keeper, and he was first choice!)

If FDM came back in he, too, would make mistakes for the same reasons as Hendo. They are of a certain standard that means they will make mistakes occasionally.

I wish people would also realise that some 'great' saves are not great at all, they are competent saves that our keepers should make as a matter of course. My slight preference is for FDM because, occasionally he does pull off a 'great' save that is extraordinary and could win or save us a match. I have yet to see Hendo match that.

Above all, whoever is in the side should get our support regardless of mistakes. I was not at Bournemouth but I can't believe that any sensible-minded, reasonable Albion fan could subject Hendo to abuse for that error. How ignorant!

All our players make mistakes, and will continue to do so. Accept it, get over it, and SUPPORT THEM!

Penalty save at Millwall (JPT) and Palace away October 2005.

And how many has he parried to the oncoming strikers?

The clear facts are Kuipers is a much better keeper than Henderson, Kuipers has been a great servant to this club and has been treated very shoddily inho, Henderson was not as good as him before the cock up and nothing has really changed.

What facts are those? Surely what you are offering is an opinion Uncle S.

but oh wise one why have managers seen different from you?

Simple fact is Kuipers is a legend a top bloke but he is no longer No1, time to support the bloke with the shirt

The fact that these discussions are ongoing and each has a good split of those that post on here siding with them is proof that...this is a bit of a shock really... they are both good keepers at this level  :jester:

Fine. I didn't see them but I respect your opinions so I accept that they were great saves. I can only base my opinions on what I've seen and FDM has produced significantly more of these.

The point I was really trying to make is that people are so polarised in their views and therefore exaggerate the reality. I'm happy that we are fortunate to have both of them, but we have to accept that there will be errors like yesterday.

Well done for having the balls to come over to the fans at the end of the game.

Quite. It takes a real man to do that when probably he'd much rather have dug a hole and jumped in it at that particular moment.

Shocking error, but he didn't deserve to have his apology thrown back in his face.

It was just plain disgusting the way Henderson was treated yesterday, It does'nt matter where people sit on the Henderson/Kuipers debate no Albion player should be subject to that sort of abuse. Ok the fella made a mistake and I was as gutted as any other fan but ffs he tried to apologise and thats the reaction he got. :nono:

Awful reaction towards an Albion player who was mortified at what had happened. Let's all get behind him if he's between the sticks Saturday (and he should be IMHO). If there's a fan out there who has never made a mistake at work, boo away.

Let's just hope somebody buys the useless twat Henderson before deadline day. He is the worst keeper I have seen play for the Albion but this Irish connection keeps working in his favour.

You obviously havent been watching the Albion for that long to come out with a statement like that

In my mind i would put him in the top 6 keepers we have had since Peter Grummit

in no particular order

Keeley
Beeney
Moseley
Roberts
Kuipers
Henderson

Powney was the best keeper for me. Long time before most of you were born though.
