Will you do that when Kuipers takes over?

Henderson supporters do cheer on FDM. I even part sponsor him.

It doesn't happen the other way around and this is why the Hendo supporters are annoyed.

Judging by the way that some of our supporters reacted to his brave gesture of apology at the end of the game, I'm not convinced that we deserve to have a young keeper of his quality on our books. We're more suited to an older average injury prone goalkeeper. It would be poetic justice to see us flounder in the lower leagues whilst he plays premiership football on a regular basis. To all of the cretins who booed him off the pitch, I say "Shame on you." I am proud of the fact that I applauded him at the end of a match that he kept us in, despite playing behind a conference standard defence. Tactically, we were inept & invited this defeat by defending in depth rather than trying to seize the initiative.

I applaud the fact that you applauded him - that's what all true Albion supporters should have done.

But Hendo playing in the Premiership? Nowhere near good enough I'm afraid.

Not sure about that. Goalkeepers tend to peak at a much later date. Of course he wouldn't be with the big clubs, but you never know, he could sneak into the Prem with a smaller team.

Most of these Henderson supporters seem to be in the same sort of club as those people who loved McGhee. Basically losers. Please give me some reminders of Henderson's greatest moments!!! or should it be blobby moments.......

I am not a Henderson 'inner' as such, more a detractor of those that boo his every move. I am extremely happy that we have two decent keepers to call on, when this season could be very rocky.

I wanted to keep McGhee on with Wilkins learning from him. If he was our choice for the future, then perhaps he needed to have a bit more time as a first team coach as opposed to a baptism of fire. I felt we needed a man with experience to avoid a brush with relegation and someone with a proven record at this level.

Nice to know that I am being labelled as a loser for offering support to both McGhee (when he was our manager) and Henderson, who iscurrently our number one choice.

Brilliant. :clap:

The "club" you refer to is Brighton & Hove Albion. Henderson supporters, above all else, just want the Albion to win. For some reason the Anti-Henderson contingent somehow seem to be willing Henderson to make errors (and potentially lose us the game, as on Monday).

I just hope we all have enough sense on Saturday to give Henderson a fantastic cheer when his name is read out at Upton Park on Saturday. Even if you'd rather see Kuipers in goal.

Yeah, I was a huge McGhee fan. Devastated when he left, I can assure you. Us Hendo supporters just appreciate a touch of CLASS.

Let's just hope somebody buys the useless twat Henderson before deadline day. He is the worst keeper I have seen play for the Albion but this Irish connection keeps working in his favour.

How people can speak such rubbish is beyond me. Since I have watched the Albion we have had Walton, Royce, Packham, Petterson amongst others in goal. If you really believe that Henderson is worst than any of them then you are delusional.

What amuses me is that Kuipers supporters seem to believe he is the same keeper he was before his injury. He has only played a limited number of games since then but is definitely not in anything like that sort of form. He is injury prone and, like Henderson, has his limitations.

I prefer Henderson but not by much and am happy with Kuipers in goal. What irritates me is the constant abuse Henderson gets from sections of the crowd, especially at Withdean, when he makes the slightest mistake while Kuipers is seen as perfect by those supporters.

The abuse he got on Monday was completely out of order and I am glad to see how many fans said they were ashamed at those supporters.

In my time;

Better than Hendo;

Keeley
Beeney
Roberts
Kuipers of 5 years ago.

Worse than Hendo;

Walton
Royce
Packham
Petterson
Rust
Digweed
Meola
Moseley
Ormerod
Flitney
Steele [Simon not Eric]
The American lad with the pink shirt. - Edit. David Yeldell
Some others.

None of this bollocks is new. The fans were just as split over Rust v Ormerod, and there were plenty of Moseley v Digweed debates.

There was just no NSC then.

I couldn't be bothered to list them all but that seems a fair assessment. Looking at the number of keepers there it makes you wonder why supporters cannot be pleased that we have two good keepers at this level and have to spend their time abusing one of them.

I concur. Though I hate to think that the boo-boy tossers represent the rest of our support or that we collectively deserve less because of their lack of empathy for a human error exacerbated by the conditions of nature.

I'd pretty much agree with that list, except Graham Moseley, who kept successfully in the equivalent of the Premiership.

Hi I am new to this forum and was at the match on Monday. Saw the Howler on the TV and feel that the conditions did not help. Was not as though he passed the ball to the opposition player. From what i saw he slipped over which can happen to anyone. Anyway as the poster stated above, i bet that the Spurs supporters did not jeer or boo Paul Robinson after his error against Croatia. Also anyone remember Seamans error when he was lobbed from over the half way line during the European final in the 90s. Two excellent goalkeepers as far as i am concerned. I have been annoyed over performances in the past, but have never booed an Albion player and never will. :albion:
