Funny looking back at how we were all gutted at losing out on joe mattock to Sheff wednesday just a few months back. How times change!

So if CMS and Barnes pick up injuries next week you'd be happy to have Toby and Barker up front?
There is a chance that he just maybe wants to settle down somewhere and enjoy his football. Not every football is driven by money and he must already be a multi millionaire. There is every chance he would stay.
I've seen/heard his post Barnsley interview on iplayer and he gave the typical non-committal loanee line of "maybe, it's nice here, have to see at the end of the season."
It wont because he will never get offered £90k a week ages when this contract expires so in effect the 90k can be ignored.
What's happened to Roland Bergkamp?
Fair enough the optimism that he may have 'earned his money' but if he stays this class a club with more cash will come for him... then again how much is Vicente on? Can we afford it again? Is he an example of this kind of equation? Will the philosophy, Gus, the club etc be draw enough to do this?
I ask all these questions because how many people would really take such an enormous pay cut? I know it is a different circumstance to us working types, with millions in the bank... but perhaps the human desire to accrue as much as possible remains intact despite the number of naughts involved is only my thought...
We can all sit here and say 'well if it were me...' BUT we a) love the club and b) have our understanding of what it is like to be that wealthy couched in fantasy. A fantasy where we can be magnanimous to the part of ourselves that theoretically 'loves being back enjoying his football...'
hmm

Indeed. If Southampton stay up, I could see him returning there, home town and all that.
Indeed.
1) He'll want to earn more than we can afford, and so he should, he's miles better than us.
2) He'll want to be playing in the premiership on the big stage.
In Bridge, Bruno and Vicente we've got some great quality at bargain prices. If we stick to our budget I can easily see our team getting worse next year.
