Froze after a couple of minutes here, back on ITV1 now, it worked OK when I watched it in the past.

ITV HD is down, its not your box. I saw the first 20 minutes in HD, then the picture froze, now its just a blue screen.
POXY ITV, stuck with their abysmal SD coverage now. Jesus the picture is shite.

Hopefully they'll get it sorted for the second half.
When I first switched up to HD, I never saw a huge improvement (not saying it wasn't better, just didn't think it lived up to the hype) but going back to standard definition after HD you really see the difference. Especially on itv.

I think in general Sky Sports HD is fantastic and gives a BIG improvement on the picture. The cricket and football gives a fabulous clarity. The quality of HD and SD movies can vary a bit though, usually depending how old the film is. Australia is fantastic in HD, Home Alone not as good. The again, Ben Hur was brilliantly upscaled, never seen that film looking better.
Sky 1 is greatly improved on HD, and I saw Planet Earth on BBC HD the other day, which was spectacular.

I've had a gradual progression. I went from analogue to digital through analogue cable, then digital through scart, then digital onto a 720p hd tv, then a dvd upscaling on the 720p, then dvd upscaling on a 1080p tv, then blu ray, so the steps have been smaller and less noticeable than if I missed out a step or two along the way as most people do.
Still, HD is fantastic and can be mind blowing at times. I have planet earth blu ray on my rental list, if it gets cheap enough I may buy it before it makes the top of my list.

it looks like the picture is upscaled and not HD , there is something wrong with the uplink as the judder makes it unwatchable.

ITV hardly show any programmes in HD , BBCHD has gone downhill too in regards to picture quality since they switched to new encoders in August and the BBC deny there is any difference.

ITVHD shows adverts from just one region (used to be Granada but I think just recently they have switched to show the adverts from London)
Cannot check as I now get a blue screen on ITVHD

Ads are the London version I think.
Back on for me, not jittery but atrocious lip-sync issues. Freesat HDR rather than a Sky HD box.

What a joke ITV are. They show about one thing a month in HD and now they can't even get that right. Pathetic.

Its come back intermittently, but looks more like upscaled SD than proper HD. Oh, and it keeps freezing up.
Sky Sports have the Valencia v Espanyol game on, with proper HD, beautiful picture. You get what you pay for I suppose. As you say Driver8, ITV are just not fit for purpose.
