In some (unlikely) circumstances they would have. And it would mean that the future King (and head of the Church of England) had a muslim half brother and stepfather.

The child would have very likely have been deemed illegitmate, if Diana and Dodi had not married. Plus as William and Harry are older and are legitimare, they would have been higher up the monarchy throne list to succeed. I have a feeling if a conspiracy theory comes out and the royal family are involved it may question the future of Britain and the Commonwealth having a monarchy altogether?
