Oh I do realise that the Israelis are not going to just give up regardless of their support from the US.
However if the US had not supported Israel so unconditionally for years then the Israelis may have been a bit more conciliatory when it comes to Middle East politics.
Surely you can see that?

I do totally agree with that, completely 100%.

But, it doesn't really matter to the problem at hand does it. It is no use wailing about the US and the support that it gave Israel, it really is irrelevant as to the present situation at hand, because you cannot undo the support that the US gave Israel to make her strong.

I mean the Soviets/Russians supported, with money and weapons, a lot of the Arab nations surrounding Israel for years we can blame them to if there is a blame game to be played.

I do think that if Israel would use the bomb they would at first be in consultation with their major ally the US.
A bit like us if we were to use our so called independent nuclear deterrent!

It is a possibility but as a weapon of last resort if the enemy were theoretically 5 miles from taking your capital how could you communicate with the outside world.

If you country is facing destruction, and you have a weapon to destroy your enemy. The choice is yours as to whether you use it or not.

I will say it again these are Israel's weapons, completely and absolutely.

But you said it so correctly they don't have the will.

Think of Robert Mugabe, think how pitiful and feeble he is, think what a ramshackle bobtail, pisspot set of armed forces he has. The UN can't even go and arrest him, the will is not there. How on earth are the UN going to go in and arrest Ehud Elmert and the Israeli cabinet.

If you add Britain and France to the list you then have the UN Security Council, if all these five nations came together and agreed on sanctions against Israel, it could be achieved.

Ok the part I said above is probably unlikely where I say if all these five nations came together and agreed on sanctions against Israel, it could be achieved.

Finally the penny is beginning to drop.

You have now finally realised this, but Hamas cannot realise this they decide that their best policy for the people that they represent is to have their attitude towards Israel that they do and lead their people like lambs to the slaughter.

It doesn't have to be like Hamas do it you know the Egyptians don't have this policy and neither do the Jordanians.

It is the balance of power, unpalletable as it is for the Palestinians that is the way it is and as Israel has nukes it isn't going to change for a long, long, long, long time.

Read my earlier posts, it's never been in dispute. Accepting a Bantustan is not an alternative either.

Look don't you realise this is a dream, completely unrealistic, you know and I know (and more importantly Israel knows) that this is never going to happen.

It is just as unrealistic as Hamas dream of no Israel, one Palestine, if Hamas go to war/conflict with Israel over this, they and the people they represent are going to get pulverised.

I am sorry but Hamas need to realise this and cut their cloth as fits the situation.

I'm not so sure if the current support of the US to Israel is irrelevant to the currrent situation, in 2007 the US and israel signed a deal of $30 billion dollars over ten years for military aid. $3 billion dollars worth of military aid is a big help to a nation, whoever you are.

I have just said it is unlikely, what more do you want me to say?

Asking people to cut their cloth as fits the situation when they feel they have had a great injustice put upon them is like Albion fans being told to accept that we didn't have a stadium and just stay at Gillingham or Withdean.

Out of curiosity what would you do to try and resolve the situation for both the Israelis and the Palestinians?

You just don't get it do you. Did you even read my last statement. If you declare war on a nation that is militarily stronger than you, you and your people are going to get battered. Why do you not understand this. Why do you not also understand that innocents have died in all wars on all sides and will do for all time. In an earlier statement that you put it/you declared war on Israel, you cannot therefore moan about Palestinian casusalties, do you not understand what conflict is and that people die innocent or otherwise?

I suggest you 'dont get it', mate!

The Palestinians whether Hamas or not have a legitimate argument in the way they have been treated for the last 60 years or more - what do you expect them to do?

Turn over and have their tummies tickled while the Zionists take over a Greater Israel from the Jordan River to the Red Sea?

No, like anyone who's had their land stolen they will fight for it and of course there will be civilian casualties - the point is that Israel doesnt give a fvck about who they kill hence attacks on the UN, hospitals and medical centres in this present battle!

If an enemy (such as Hamas/Hezbollah or Iran) whose aim is the destruction of YOUR country is 5 miles away from taking your capital city, why wouldn't you use them. You have nothing else to lose.

You'd be a bit f***ing stupid to use nukes on a target only 5 miles away. Then again the Israelis are hardly showing any intelligence at the moment !!!

Another possible solution is for Israel to bulldoze all the Palestinians out of Gaza back into Egypt.

Then to let only the law abiding & peaceful non suicide, ammo firing nutcases back in.

Westdene Seagull will of course look after all the poor downtrodden morons outside of Gaza

Well at least it would exclude the murderous Israelis from being in Gaza as they're far more moronic ammo firing nutcases than anyone else in the world.

Can I put to bed one myth.

No U.S. ally needs permission to use their nuclear arms, not Britain or israel or any member of Nato.

They are independant regardless of procurement and funding.

Should bomb the Gaza (Hamas) to hell to teach them a lesson. Scum terrorrists.

A typically inciteful and useful comment. Keep your bigotry for some other forum where it is appreciated. If that is all you have to contribute to this debate, then you clearly have very little idea what you are talking about.

Medical authorities say more than 1,300 Palestinians were killed during Israel's 22-day operation, including some 440 children, 110 women, and dozens of elderly people.

The stated aim was to curb rocket and mortar fire by militants from Gaza. Thirteen Israelis, including three civilians were killed.
