I seem to remember the last time the far right raised their ugly lttle heads in the 70's, they were roundly defeated by many of us attending hundreds of Aswad gigs. Perhaps we should start doing the same again. Are Aswad still going or should we rally round something a bit more modern? I am afraid that (Mrs. M P informs me) I am no longer down with the kids so suggestions welcome.

How about it? Oceanic and Abu Hamza on the same platform? It's not to far away now.

Nick Griffin was a big fan of Libya in his "Third Position" days, so I would not count it out...

But I wonder if your are not falling into the opposite trap of exaggerating their current achievements and prospects. For example, what national opinion poll has been published that shows them make any real dent on the national scene? Compared to some racist movements on the Continent, like Le Pen's lot or far right parties in Austria or Italy, the BNP really are small fry.

Correct again LI, but, and I know this isn't representative of the whole country etc etc, this poll now shows that one in three people on here would vote BNP. Do you not find that a tad worrying? I refuse to believe that one in three people who have voted here are serious racists.

You have to admit that things are not right in this country at the moment.

Everything is fine in the country. The standard of living of everyone is far far far higher than it was 20 years ago. Crime is down, waiting lists are miniscule to what they were, and there is far higher employment.

By far the biggest problem we have are pensions and how to deal with an ageing population.

Why do you think everybody want to move here? If we were some hellhole do you think we'd have people arrving to live and work here.

  The other main problem is of course the perceived security threat - a problem inflamed by Bliar and his illegal "war on terror".

Not really just our problem though. That's a global problem and which we as global players are trying to do something about. Uk and US could let everyone be and concentrate on themselves, but it wouldn't do the world any good.

Then why do a third of people in this poll say they will vote BNP then?

Clearly everything is not fine.

Don't forget that Griffin aligned with Farrakhan as well. The trouble is that a vote for the BNP is a vote truly wasted, seeing as when it comes down to it they have no policies and have walked out of one government seat because "he didn't understand anything", and got voted out at the first opportunity in the other seats.

They have no real discernible manifesto, cannot balance their income/expenditure unless they send tax sky high, and ignore the fact that actually, a lot of the people who come to this country come here to work - which is more than some of the British born scum who voice their support of the BNP will do. Let's also be honest - many of the people who claim to support the BNP do it through some twisted understanding of machismo, believing that their own insecurities can be transferred to this supposed "black mass" dragging the country down, when in fact they should be looking closer to home if they want to sort this country out.

25% is a quarter, not a third.

Hopefully our future Fuhrer will sort out education. :clap2:

Because a poll on NSC is as reliable as McGoo's tactical notebook. It is meaningless, as are all polls until the actual day of the races when people look at the BNP, realise that they have nothing to offer, and lose their deposits.

I know, but it is still a worrying sign. Even Magoo got his tactics right sometimes!

I think they are also responsible for our hose pipe bans.
