I’m not making excuses. Just pointing out that autism is not one thing ie no two autistic individuals are the same anymore than non autistic people. My experience is lots of swearing though. If you had said autistic children don’t lie I would have agreed with you. As to the OP I would have thought the club could still give the opportunity for this kid to attend but with more supervision.OK then. I'm afraid that I am rather cynical and defensive when I hear autism being used as an excuse for bad behaviour. The fact that he could suddenly control himself in the second half suggests a lack of parental/responsible adult control rather than any issues that the lad may have.
Very silly comment. Just don't out him in a place where it's going to causing upset to othersIf that was the case, what do you propose? Euthanasia?
I will do. We have family and friends with children with complex needs and this would never happen with them. We can't get to many games as she usually plays herself Saturdays which is hopefully moving to Sundays next season and we were going to go for a season ticket. I will wait to see the clubs response..OP. Contact the club immediately. Give all the details you possibly can
I'm confident the adult who he was with will be banned.
The police absolutely bottled it as usual. The entire party should have been removed as soon as this was disclosed. The would have been dozens who could verify what you're saying.
My advice is, don't let this put you off taking your daughter who sounds like she enjoyed it otherwise. But that of course is an individual parenting decision.
I didn't mean that you are making excuses, I mean that the people with him were using his autism as an excuse when it shouldn't be. Swearing and racism is learned behaviour, he has heard that from somewhere and copied it.I’m not making excuses. You should know that every autistic child/person is different then. I’ve got two autistic sons and they are incredibly different.I would just like to point out that my autistic son of 23 has never, ever sworn in his entire life.
So you are condoning keeping disabled children locked away from society cause they might cause upset.Very silly comment. Just don't out him in a place where it's going to causing upset to others
So you've explained or yourself, the kids is SEN. It sounds like a particularly unfortunate situation. The adults he was with were friends of family and the boy apparently has complex needs - autism. The guy he wad with was actually not of white origin himself which surprised me more. Perhaps he didn't feel comfortable correcting a friends child.
Apparently no such language was heard in the 2nd half and the lad was allowed to remain in the stadium.
If I'm reading the above correctly, you (and daughter) were offended by the language used by someone who is autistic?
I would suggest that you learn (and teach) tolerance for those who have mental health issues, rather than wanting them removed.
It could just as easily have been you, having such a troubled child. Think on that.
and what places in public would it not cause upset others.Very silly comment. Just don't out him in a place where it's going to causing upset to others
You've used the term "cause upset" when the person said "f off blackies"So you are condoning keeping disabled children locked away from society cause they might cause upset.
I do know that but thank you for pointing that out.You should know that every autistic child/person is different then. I’ve got two autistic sons and they are incredibly different.
"Autistic or not".....ffs.Autistic or not a child of that age should not be shouting racist and abusive language out at a football match or anywhere in public.
Parents or whoever he was with should have taken him out of the stand.
Eh?"Autistic or not".....ffs.
Yes, yes it is....but what part of the fact that the person saying it is autistic are you missing? You've used the term "cause upset" when the person said "f off blackies"
That is a long way past causing upset
Yes they do if someone sets them rules in the first place. Autistic people LOVE rules.Yes, yes it is....but what part of the fact that the person saying it is autistic are you missing?
Autistic people don't play by our rules, and I'm sure you're aware of that.
It's pretty simple - you're suggesting that people with mental heath issues (as demonstrated in the OP) should not be inclusive - or have I got that wrong?Eh?
What is your point exactly?
What’s the angry face about?
Some do, some don't - are you assuming that all autistic people are the same.....just like we are?Yes they do if someone sets them rules in the first place. Autistic people LOVE rules.
