If you mean 'above our heads' in a general sense, you may well be right, albeit millions of light years ( or even more) above our heads.
If you mean directly above, as in right above, you're whistling in the wind.
I do actually wish 'they' were, just for shits and giggles, mainly, but they really aren't.

I do wish people who say things like “there is definitely life out there” and “there are 10,000 planets that could support life” would just do some basic research rather than going directly to deep theory without passing confirmed science.
Facts are important here.
Listen to a few episodes of The Infinite Monkey Cage. Most of these theories are discussed over the many series and boiled down to the facts. Seriously, give it a listen, I think it would do a lot of good

I disagree that it is well documented, there is some evidence to suggest an interest, but it seems he was most interested in developing a cult of Nazi.
In any case, Hitler had many beliefs that were unfounded.

I've been along that path numerous times, lived in Woodingdean for years and never knew anything about this murder.
Being a calm and considerate person I fail to see how anyone could commit murder, and I can't imagine doing so by plunging a knife into someone's body numerous times.
And this was a 12 year old child's body. Poor kid!
Pity they haven't caught the absolute c**t who could do such a thing.

Fascinating but sad. Can’t believe it’s not been solved especially with DNA etc now. Also if wiki is right & they want to track a family who moved to Holland that surely can’t be hard in this day and age?!

Please have a read of this Oxford study published in Nov 2020 that concludes the probability of intelligent life elsewhere, esp in the Milky Way is very low. This is the latest thinking and worth reading if one wants to be informed.
In the study, scientists at Oxford’s Future Humanitarian Institute believe that as life on Earth evolves, in many cases it depends on a series of “revolutionary changes”. Given how late intelligent life evolved on this planet, the chances of similar advances occurring on other planets, before they could no longer sustain life, were not very likely, they said.
“It took about 4.5 billion years of continuous evolution, resulting in a brilliant life on Earth,” they wrote. Paper published last month. “In another billion years, the rising light of the sun will make the earth uninhabitable for complex life.
“Along with the scattering time of major evolutionary changes and reliable predecessors, it can be concluded that the expected transition times may be longer than the lifespan of the Earth, perhaps by several commands,” he wrote. “In turn, this suggests that intelligent life may be exceptionally rare.”
To reach their results, the scientist looked at statistical models to determine the probability that the sequence of evolutionary changes that took place on Earth might occur elsewhere.
So exceptionally rare, not impossible. But highly improbable.
Here are the study results. It's quite in depth but if you'd like some objective information by some of the best scientists in the world, you could do a lot worse.

Personal experience of such things can stay with you and as you say, inspires passion. Despite my belief that we are highly probably alone, there are vast areas of science we know little or nothing about. Heck , we don't even know what 99% of space is made of! So if science was turned on it's head tomorrow, it would not surprise me. Well, maybe a little bit
