I’m not. (Fair point on Belgian league).
I’m not denying it adds something in terms of interest, but take us when we missed out on goal difference, really it wasn’t fair, and the fact we got those injuries in the Sheff Weds game just compounded it, but Iit is just your luck….
But that said, I maintain that champions are champions, and having a play-off to then give the 4th placed team the opportunity to ‘win’ the league makes a mockery of it.

They’ve still got a chance to qualify for the Champions League though as second place in Belgium enter the third qualifying round. They need to win two rounds to make the new League stage. However should they lose either of those ties I think they drop straight into the Europa League new league stage.

Union midfielder Cameron Puertas is chosen as players player of the season in Belgium, could do a job.

The ban on transfer business while both BHA and USG were in the Europa made sense, but does anyone know the rationale behind the ban lasting until after this summer's window? We've not qualified for Europe, so why the restriction on inter-club business in July/Aug??
I would assume it was preemptive in case both teams qualified again (thus giving them plenty of time to put in place extended bans to cover next season fully). Having said that, they could easily have had the ban end mid-window once everything was settled - so they've taken easy street instead of putting even a tiny bit of effort in.

Ineos own less than 30% of Man Utd so it was never going to be an issue.
However City Group own 47% of Girona which for every other club with shared ownership has meant a change in ownership structure.
I wonder how Tony Bloom, the Aston Villa and AC Milan owners etc will react if City Group don’t have to restructure any of their ownership or have transfer sanctions put in place.
Of course they will, they were never going to do anything else

Calendar Jupiler Pro League season 2024-2025: Union opens league on visit to Dender
After the Super Cup on 20 July (8pm), we kick off the new Jupiler Pro League campaign on Saturday 27 July at 4pm. The first Brussels derby against Anderlecht will follow on Sunday 1 September at 6.30pm in our Marien Stadium.
Looks like the transfer ban is applying to Man United and Nice this season.
Didn’t city already sign a midfielder from Girona this summer? Think it was agreed mid way through the season and he joins this summer. Is that a loophole as girona hadnt qualified yet? Even though they were always very likely to throughout the season. Just makes a mockery of the whole system

No they signed him from Troyes, he was on loan at Girona. Troyes are also part of the City Group but have just been relegated to the French third flight, so no conflict of interest as far UEFA are concerned.
The player was Savio. He was bought by Troyes (another City Group team) - he was their record signing but never played for them, and spent this season on loan at Girona.
