Ha. Well, I totally oppose your views on immigration but we share a common view on certain aspects of the economy. The minimum wage is one of them. I'm going to spend the summer in Germany so I'll be back in the Autumn laden with many more ideas on how to improve things

I was based in munster from 1986/87, a lovely city, i visited it again recently , and realised how little of it i'd seen when i was a 20 year old only interested in booze and frauleins ( and occasionally fraus when other units based there were away on tour lol! )

No minimum wage in Germany,..... their economy and thus their citizens are doing very well thank you ( just spent a week in Bielefeld,.... very prosperous all round)

They have different type of economy to us and employers have a very different attitude to employees....hence no need for a minimum wage.

Correct. Only just though, the wall went along the western boundary of Prenz. It sits just above Mitte. Its a great place but it's slowly becoming poncified.

I have spent a fair bit of timein Germany and the emplyer/employee relationship is very different. In my experience the people work hard and they are rewarded with respect, good pay and excellent benefits and a higher quality of life than here. Not sure what their immigration policy is but it used to be pretty strict.

Also, there is a book about the union leader at VW and how his job was a bit of a joke as he had little to do due to the firm always offering good terms and conditions for his members. This is at the top end and it filters down and to the medium and small companies I mention.

On top of this, if you ever spend time in Germany you will generally feel you are paying a fair price for a decent product. You rarely feel ripped off. It's in their culture.

Cant disagree there,... my Uncle( age 53) is a security gate guard at a paper mills, nothing grand at all, works about 42 hour week, gets 12 weeks holiday, ( 25 years service), and earns the equivilent of £37k.... I was amazed. He also got all his work clothing free, and dry cleaned free once a month.

Interestingly I found cars to be much more expensive over there, but everything else moderately priced,... houses were half the price of here at least.

I can't tell whether you are confused or retarded............on one hand you dont think the country of origin of criminals is relevant, but on the other hand you do think we should be able to deport criminals? How can we do the latter without the former?
