We need proper competition from a genuine number one contender imho, Button is not good enough, Walton hasnt played at this level so thats a gamble, and whilst Maty is a fair solid keeper, if he gets injured or suffers a big dip in form, which he did last term, we have scant little quality to come into the team. A decent real alternative will also serve to keep Ryan on his toes, even a crap out of form Ryan is still better than the present alternatives, that needs to change.

I’m in the camp that believes we could upgrade Ryan. But put Maty’s best moments to a rock track and I don’t think there’d be much different. Let’s spend the money on a decent striker for once, please.
