Won’t cover State crimes. SDNY are waiting for him.

Can he be pardoned for crimes he hasn't yet been charged with? Wouldn't the prosecutors just wait until he's out of office?

I'm fairly sure that Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon prior to any charges being levied against him, although the circumstances are very different. Personally, I think Trump absolutely should serve some time for his crimes against the American people. Even if they don't currently care about his crimes or are totally blind to the reality of his presidency and the campaign before it. Including some posters on this forum who seem oblivious to the reality of the act.

I think the only crime Nixon committed was to instigate Watergate and the subsequent cover up. Trump's " Crimes " are considerably more complicated to prove however, Tax Evasion seems nailed on, if he gets found guilty of multiple counts he should do time. No one can say they are above paying taxes in the US

I completely agree - it's very clear that he's a tax cheat if nothing else and he should face the full force the law. I don't think he will though, America has a way of protecting the rich. Even the fake rich.

Only? That's a bit like saying Harold Shipman's only crime was to give fatal doses of drugs to elderly patients. Forty eight people went to jail as a result of the Watergate investigation - Nixon would undoubtedly have made it 49 if he hadn't been pardoned. He was facing impeachment on three separate counts.

Interestingly, one of the counts that Nixon was facing was obstruction of justice, one of the same that Trump faced. The Donald didn't make the mistake of taping his converstions.

He didn't but did others?

Pence can pardon him for Federal crimes, but not State ones. There is absolutely nothing Pence can do on the tax stuff.

SDNY have made pretty clear they are waiting for Trump’s presidency to end to act.

Are the right still claiming that CNN doesn't hold Democrats to account? There needs to be an agreement though, it's clearly in the interests of the country for there to be a new package. Both sides need to put their own agendas to one side, nobody looks good when their constituents are starving.

The States is rotten to the core. It's become totally feudal. Neither side going to allow the other an inch predominantly because of ego. I really do foresee serious civil unrest around the corner.

This!.... Throw in lots of guns and whoever " Wins" this time around, the real winner is Vladimir Putin as he has managed to divide and weaken his greatest foe without firing a shot.

The Kremlin realised a few years ago that it is much cheaper and less risky to destabilise their rivals with hybrid warfare than with conventional warfare.

The Gerasimov and Primakov doctrines have been incredibly successful.

Vladimir must be giving out lots of medals for all the successes of these strategies.

Next goal the breaking up of the UK.

This is a very real and dangerous possibility with the militia that have been arming themselves for years for this to all fall into place.
The perfect storm and it really depends on what Trump says even if it is inadvertently said, just any green light and they will take up arms and looking for any excuse, add to that right wing groups (not all militia are right wing).

Dark days indeed for the US and as you say Putin, is sat in a big comfy chair, with a chilled Vodka watching this all unfold and play right into his lap, excellent strategy you have to say, and the big question would be, what next if America does implode, what is Putins next move ? ?

Careful now.
Citing WaPo, NYTimes, The Athletic & The BBC as evidence will set alarm bells ringing, elsewhere.

I hope you are able to dodge the incoming.

The break-up of the UK is going quite well already.
