"The affected train companies are Chiltern Railways, Cross Country Trains, Greater Anglia, LNER, East Midlands Railway, c2c, Great Western Railway, Hull Trains, Northern Trains, South Eastern, South Western Railway, Transpennine Express, Avanti West Coast, West Midlands Trains."

No mention of SASTA

Don't have a clue where Uffern is, but not all the supporters/STHs live locally !

If you don't like your pay or condition then **** off and find another job. I don't use the train but can imagine it's a massive ball ache for those who do and I can't see many having any sympathy for these twats anymore.

I stiil have sympathy and mainly because they are being right royally screwed over on their already agreed pensions. Some stand to lose over £30k .... resigning and moving company won't fix that. Also, if you're a say train driver where exactly can you go other than another train company .... who will be screwing over their employees as well.

Once Truss starts dismantling hard won workers’ rights we can all expect a lot more industrial action. Except then it will be effectively illegal to strike. Or should I say, measures being considered will make striking ineffective. Proposals such as train companies being legally bound to provide a set minimum service at all times.

If someone was messing about with my pension, I’d be on the picket line, pronto.

You can’t come here with your “facts” and “reason”, there’s pitchforks need shaking.

So…what happens when all the people who can drive trains aren’t there anymore? I’m not convinced you’ve thought this through, if I’m honest.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would do their job for their current salary. They're not paid badly in the slightest, just more militant knobheads like the binmen (and binwomen)
No sympathy for people who constantly complain about their job but instead of finding another job, they feel the need to disrupt the lives of others to try and prove a point.

Quite. Why should someone who has trained and given loyalty to a profession then have to jack it all in, surrender a wedge of pension and go and do a job they have no passion for?

So the shareholders can buy a 10th home?

Why don’t they deserve a pay rise? Why don’t they deserve to have their pensions protected? What better paid jobs should they go to with their train driving qualifications?

Not sure I overly care about the whys and whatnots on this strike binfest. Just yet ANOTHER home game getting completely banjo'd because we are totally in hock with this rancid rail "service". Another game with swathes of empty seats, as fans understandably take the easy option of a sofa or a bar stool. I'd be tempted myself, if I hadn't already arranged a ticket for a mate and had long arranged to meet up for a pre-match shandy somewhere.

But my patience is wearing mightily thin now. The logistics of getting to and from the Amex on public transport is turning into an absolute mission. I'm going to have a decision to make on next years renewals at this rate, I can't really be doing with it if this neverending shitshow persists. Its just gotten worse, and worse, and worse.

No, they don't. But probably about 90% live in Sussex or London. And I wouldn't mind betting that more than 90% of those who don't drive to matches. So, you're talking about really small numbers who may be affected by the strike - 99% will have no problem at all.

Not just the train drivers on the bigger wedge
It’s the ticket office staff and cleaners etc that are being affected by this

So if all the train drivers left, you think I could just walk up to the gate at Lover’s Walk depot and they’d let me take the next Victoria service for a spin?

Their point being they want to retain their standard of living and working conditions. Is that wrong?
