So, Ven2 today...whos going to be Victorious?

Will we see the likes of M A Lopez, Simon Yates, or Dan Martin try something as they've been incredibly quiet so far in this tour? Will Cav & Froome beat the time cut?

Should be a great stage.

I was so impressed with how QuickStep put two domestiques with Cav on the mountain stage last week. It seems they will do everything they can to get him to Paris - they really want that green jersey.

I'll predict a damp squib - as is customary for Queen Stages.

Two dozen no marks 7 mins up the road first time round.
Half that second time round.

The winner won't be a traditional climber.

And Formolo will yet again make Tommy V look like a mere amateur gurner.

Updated for you

It's like the most brutal of World Championship courses.

Will it suit Sagan or Alaphilippe?

Ala is a big favourite for today for the following reasons:

1. Way down on GC, so no threat.

2. Climbs really well.

3. Descends even better!

Sagan..... No chance. Although it is worth noting that Tony Martin has actually won on a Ventoux stage before. Sir Thomas of De Gendt has won on the Stelvio before too in the Giro. Plus we saw what Colbrelli did on a brutal mountain stage the other day.

All of this is irrelevant though because Ineos are busy setting the train up to take Pogacar to the stage win :lolol:

What are Ineos trying to do? There must be a plan because it all feels a bit... well, Movistar circa 2019.

Ineos are trying to forget they're the same old Sky, but failing

Dave has promised everyone exciting racing. Perhaps that's another marginal gain he's manager to invent as well

Is Sagan now permanently not the cyclist he was?

Three or four years ago, it seemed he might break a load of TDF records, being adept at bunch sprints and unstoppable in long break outs.

Just a new generation has taken over.

Having seen Cav recently though, I ain't writing Sagan's career off just yet

GVA will be gutted to finally retire the gold helmet and bike after loving it for the past 5 years

He's just won the points classification in the Giro, and still the reigning points champion for the TdF isn't he? If Cav takes the green, won't that be only the 3rd time in 10 years he hasn't won it?

Imagine having tarmac like that in Sussex.

WvA would think he was in another cyclo-cross race were he to be riding over here.

I could spin that to say "see, told you"

But that would be a lie.

Not worth a days annual leave that's for sure.

The upside being, I'm well rested for tonight
