It was a simple question that possibly needed just a simple yes or no answer.

But how was it relevent to a statement about Momentum being politically extreme?

Not sure that's in any way true. What usually happens is that the far right drags the debate so far right that moderates appear to be 'Extreme' left..and of course visa versa! Also Momentum are not particularly extreme left, just labelled that way so that people are wary of their views. They are mainly advocates for social justice and equality. Ideals that should be mainstream not feared, but then we do have a vested interest in our media to portray Momentum as dangerous!

I am deeply sympathetic with your views and probably share a number of political views, however a left of centre socialist Government is highly unlikely to win a majority in this country. .

You can blame the media all you like, but when left of centre MPs start calling each other "comrade" and use the word "solidarity" they've lost half the room in this country.

That's why the Tories were able to scoop up so many traditional Labour voters at the last election.

Just as the current administration have taken us back to the 1980s, the Labour party under Corbyn did too.

If you speak to older voters (which I do) they have started talking about the Labour party of 1970/80s (and their fears) completely forgetting they got bored of Thatcher and Major and elected Blair for years.

Step by step.....

Although we must acknowledge the elephant in the room. That being that the country is in unsustainable debt and that politicians keep adding to it because they want to be elected.

The population is ageing and the NHS is creaking. It's easy to go ra ra ra for likes, but not so easy to face the problem.

My belief is that there needs to be a huge spending review and major cuts in government spending.

It's how that is done and where the priorities are (no £200m royal yachts...). The ill and vulnerable should be top of the priority list. The only question I would ask is whether or not the NHS is providing some services it wasn't intended for (i.e things a proper community would be doing amongst itself). It's a tough one. But I'm certainly not in favour of charging for hospital stays.

I tend to take a more Socialist view of tax and spending. But I do know this country is spending what it doesn't have- and a future generation will be poorer for it.
