You are totally correct that Corbyn is a lifelong Eurosceptic but I think you will find that it was the right wing of the Labour party, Starmer et al, that prevented the Corbyn-led Labour Party from standing on an anti-EU ticket. The Labour Party manifesto said that they would respect the result of the Referendum but Corbyn was hamstrung from doing so.

And I'm still not sure what Starmer has done except alienate a large percentage of Party activists and ban his shadow ministers from supporting working men and women who are having to strike to get a decent wage which, if they are successful, would still result in a minimum 3% pay cut in real terms.

He got it done but now wants it undone having rushed through the TCA over Christmas 2019. He didn't read it and nor did those around him.

Labour is not committed to the same thing. Their strategy will is to honour the International treaty we signed up to and use the appropriate legal mechanisms if things need changing.

One party follows the rule of law, the other thinks they can make unilateral changes when they feel like it.

No one trusts Johnson overseas, he's bad for the Tories and bad for the UK

I will answer your two replies because they are courteous. I was done a long time ago answering rude posts about the EU by the same old posters. Just no interest in engaging with them. Rippleman, Starmer has committed to not rejoining the EU, Single Market or Customs Union. I have no idea if this is a good strategic decision but it is enough to win my vote.Yes, the right of the Labour Party prevented Corbyn backing Brexit but the ground has now shifted as per Starmer’s speech.
Nikko, that is one of the reasons I will be voting Labour. I think international agreements should be honoured. I feel that with both main parties now backing us being out of the EU there will be more meaningful negotiation from both sides and an agreement found.

To be honest I don't really care whether Johnson stays or goes, my opinion of him hasn't changed at all since he became PM, he's always been a lying sack of s***. And to be honest I think the best chance of a Labour govt would probably be if Johnson stays till the next election.

The thing that bugs me, is all the tory mp's making out like they've had enough of Johnson lying. Well it's not new, he was a liar when you elected him, he was liar when he survived the vote of confidence. The only difference is they've suddenly realised they might lose their seats at the next election and are trying to save their own skin. I guess that's the way politics has always been though.

Part of me thinks he should stay. Despite all the evidence the UK electorate stil voting him in; they should own this and all the consequences which come wtih it. Stand by your decision!

It's not a wind up, it's a simple logical fact that no campaigner, politician, expert, supporter has been able to answer in 6 years. Because there has never been an answer which has been implementable and no campaigner, politician, expert or supporter has been able to been able to come up with a solution.

Interesting to see my MP signing that letter (Kemi Badenoch). I wrote to her when the initial party scandals came to light, saying I hoped she would cease to support the PM but I got the standard "big calls right / wait for Sue Gray" response. I wrote to her again after the Sue Gray report and got another reply saying "reformed No10 operations / focusing on the things that matter to British people / cost of living etc etc."

But it seems even she's finally sensed which way this is going.

I think that to be fair it is quite reasonable to be very cross about the process that delivered us Johnson and a half-arsed Brexit. Of course Brexit is half-arsed. The NI agreement was always unworkable, and it can't be magicked away. And it is quite reasonable for people to be angry about this. Angry we were lied to. Flippant comments about not being required to defend one's self on a message board that one has voluntarily decided to engage with, when it suits, is also likely to make people annoyed. So it goes
