Nothing to do with Russia or global geopolitics then?
Yes, it is. Russia is playing it well in excacerbating the supply shortfall.

One of the promises of Brexit was lowering or even removing VAT on energy bills. Spain, still in the EU, lowered it just this week.
Labour introduced a bill to vote on it, but it was defeated 321 to 219 yesterday. 320 of those voting against were Tory MPs.
One Tory voted for it, and has had the whip removed today.
On the phone with a mate of mine tonight. He voted 'leave' and thinks Corbyn was a ****. He stunned me by saying he went on a protest recently to oppose laws that Priti Vacant is pushing through, apparently under the radar, to give police enormous powers to quell 'protests' and imprison people breaching new draconian laws about what protests can be held where. I'm no fan of a protest march, but this is apparently one of many examples of sneaky laws being slipped onto the statutes while the nation fulminates about how Johnson broke his own edicts, and Johnson sniggers his sincere apologies, to gasps and swoons of incredulity (and, sadly much admiration in parts) from the audience.
People.....we are being ****ed over by this shower, and they are getting away with it, still.
Ah I see, we were at cross purposes. I was talking about the next 10 years.
In other news, nearly 130,000 new Covid cases, nearly 20,000 in hospital, 793 on ventilators.
And another 398 dead.
Ah I see, we were at cross purposes. I was talking about the next 10 years.
It is a measure of how utterly ridiculous things now are, that there are comments under that from people who believed this to be a genuine interview with an MP!
No, not all parties and definitely not all MP's (of all parties) are the same.
'They are all the same' is often used as an excuse by somebody who either doesn't have the time or inclination to investigate and understand what politicians or politics are about, has made a poor decision and doesn't want to admit they have made a poor decision, so makes out they were denied a decision. This Government is in power, and will be for the next 3 years, because people wanted Johnson's 5 year plan.
'They are all the same' is an excuse from people who won't take responsibility for what they have done
I'm sorry that you got all of that (and probably don't deserve it), but it does piss me off when people use this cop out
that’s not actually what i said, your rant is in itself the mirror image of what you profess to get pissed by, and is frankly insulting, uncalled for bollocks
you do not have a clue about me, what 8 do, what i know or don’t know, or even what i do or don’t look into chap

Yes, it is. Russia is playing it well in excacerbating the supply shortfall.
The supply shortfall of what and why is there a supply shortfall?
And what does that have to do with energy transition?

Hate to be pedantic, but next 7 years as you voted for Johnson to control it for the next 3 and he's made it quite clear he's not going to do what the Leave campaign said it would do and cut VAT. He even kicked an MP out of the conservative party over it
The energy transition particularly as applied to power generation. Western European countries have been transitioning very quickly away from fossil fuel and towards renwables but this is insufficient to meet electricity demand. This means a bigger role for gas fired power stations but Russia controls the supply.
What I have noticed repeatedly in recent years, when encountering angry working-class Tories and Brexiters - often blokes who look like Phil Mitchell in Eastenders - on social media is that they almost always adore Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage and Donald Trump.
So they 'follow' or 'like' 3 of the most dishonest, egotistical, incompetent and self-serving politicians of the day, and then insist that 'All politicians are crooks or as bad as each other.' Or they scream "What about that Labour/Lib Dem/SNP MP who fiddled £2.34 expenses 19 years ago; proves my point."
Whenever I hear this claim that "they're all as bad as each other; they're all at it", I know I'm dealing with a raving Right-winger with an agenda, and who is not interested in evidence or facts.
I don’t that really matters anymore.
To do what Johnson did here goes beyond anything I’ve ever seen in politics. He just lied - pure and simple. And we we were facing the biggest impact on our day to day lives since the war.
This is beyond justification by anyone, regardless of your politics. A liar is a liar - no matter what their views or political affiliations are.
He’s an absolute disgrace.

maybe they dont want to get involved in the politics. if they investigate and find there technically werent rules broken, look like they're siding with government for those who have made their mind up already.
that's a bit of a concern then, they don't just think they're above the law, they actually are,
the death knell of a free country!
