No, I did not; I replied by saying that "Only a racist would think that, wouldn't they?"

You posed a question - I answered it.

Don't make up stuff, and quit being obnoxious. Not once was I rude or insulting towards you, so take your bear pit crap where it belongs.

He's quite clever. In an obvious sort of way.

Say something that could be construed one way and then get outraged when it is.

Classic.

can i ask a question as an aside , if we were to end up with an Indian or Arab as PM do you think we might then have to admit that England as we know it , is finished....gone , nada..?

For me, as soon as the Scotch John Stuart ended up as PM, England as we knew it was finished. Things haven't been the same since.

I do not follow politics religiously but are ANY of those with their hats in the ring not guilty of backing BJ to the hilt until it became clear the ship was sinking? If so none are fit to take his job imo

Hunt lost the leadership contest with him last time, Tugendhat has never served in a Johnson cabinet and Mourdant was sacked by Johnson as Defence Secretary

Tugendhat would be the only one that (on face vaule) seems to be decent enough, although he does lack experience. That said, I'd take someone with a little integrity over experience, for the time being.
Of course, he'll get nowhere near the job.

I get the impression that at least half of the runners and riders are in the contest, not because they believe they have any chance of winning, but that it gives them more leverage to ask for a decent job to the likely winner when they pull out

so if you called me a strange man to my face what kind of reply would you expect....you provided an obtuse answer to my question and if you think the question deserves the pit then that's up to you , from my angle it's more about the lack of will from the Eton educated hooray henry , pigs head fiddlers to grow a back bone and stand up for the country ....reverse Brexit and deal with the myriad issues facing Europe as a unit rather than a shabby, bankrupt , piss stained shambles of an island between France and Eire.

As far as the Eton crew go they are only interested in voluminising the bottom lines of their family trusts bank account ...we are arguing the same point but from different angles.

Labour are no better .....it's a mess.

That would be the Tugendhat that opposed Brexit but now wants to "unleash its benefits"? They'll say anything to get what they want. Not a principled one amongst them. Utter shower.

It's quite straightforward:

You posed a simple question; "can i ask a question as an aside , if we were to end up with an Indian or Arab as PM do you think we might then have to admit that England as we know it , is finished....gone , nada..?"

I answered it simply and plainly, with, "Not at all. Only a racist would think that, wouldn't they?"

It's not an obtuse reply, but it's certainly a rather....let's say....'iffy' question.

If you're going to post questions that are phrased that way, you cannot be surprised if people regard you in a certain way, and the way you keep digging isn't helping you at all.

Well, you have just described the classic tory phenotype. Labour may not be 'better' but they are not the same. I can explain how dressage is dull, rooted in a world from days gone by, and is inaccessible and obscure. But I would struggle to add 'Football is no better'.

An idle observer might be tempted to suggest you have spent too long in the grubby pub on the edge of town called the Suicidal Arms, nursing your pint of Old Cynic, and staring balefully out of the cracked window, watching a spotty boy trying to break into a rusty Ford Escort with a table knife nicked off his nan.

Sadly, for better or worse (and I know which way I'd vote!), we're kinda stuck with Brexit....for now, at least. I like the fact that he opposed Brexit, initially - at least there's hope for him. :)

But yes, it's a poor bunch, for sure, but hopefully one of them will prove less poor than Bozo.

not at all , i've been enjoying monday club and having the bookies over...i'll admit i'm not on the ball with British politics but it doesn't seem too good from this side of the pond.

was just looking at the names that are in the frame for Bozo's job and they seemed like a , well , an eclectic bunch to put a non controversial tilt on it.

Why are you so angry? You're even angry at where you come from - a 'town full of eejits'. Chill out.

Whilst there's a bit me wants Tugendhat I think it really needs to be Brexiteers to eat their own faeces for the next couple of years. I see not one candidate has a grown up view on NI situation, even the likes of Hunt.

Agreed, and even 'if' there was a perfect candidate, it's a complete poisoned chalice, for the foreseeable future.

Incredible how we've sunk so low, so quickly, isn't it?

Well they can't come out with it now.

Most people now have a weary acceptance that what is said to get elected is never going to happen when they finally get into office. Even Starmer, to be fair, said a load of socialist stuff to get the gig, is moving to the centre, and would probably govern somewhere in the middle of those positions.

None of these tories are going to go for the aggressive tax cutting they are talking about now and the other MP's and members know it. It's just not possible. They do it, I think, to create a perception of their persona
