Sounds like Johnson might be planning a snap general election... would be very interesting.

This sounds more like a threat to his own party after seeing the results last week. Otherwise it's just this...

I hope so.

Get him gone.

But what happens if Durham police fine Starmer and he resigns mid-campaign ?

I sense potential skullduggery.

I think the Tory intention to would be to call an election if Kier resigns hoping to capitalise on Labour being without a leader to campaign with.

This would mean Rayner would have to stand in.

If found guilty they both said they would resign. That would leave Nandy or Wes Streeting to go for leader and IMHO both would wipe the floor with the Tory front bench.

Rayner is also up for resignation if she gets a fine.

I just expect maximum dirty tricks from Johnson.

I concur but to err on the side of caution, I would still prefer that EITHER Labour or LibDem stood against the Tories (whoever has the best chance of winning) and not both and risk splitting the anti Tory vote. Yes, that would probably end up with a Lab/LibDem coalition but would that be such a bad thing?

There are reports in the press that the Tories would wait till the conclusion of a Labour leadership election, then call an election

But why would they wait for that?

Where’s Rory Stewart when you need him. I could actually have seen myself voting for him……

I could certainly vote for him.

Common sense, centre ground politics.

Listening to him and Alistair Campbell on their podcast shows us what we are currently missing in British politics.

We need a new Party - and it is possible - look at Macron in France - he completely changed the dynamics of French Politics.

Doughnut.

I'm sure the egg-chasing lot will be forgiving, they usually wouldn't get too het up about such a mix up.

As much as I like Rory Stewart I don't think he's right as a leader. He's got a few quirks, he's already admitted smoking opium which I don't have a problem with personally but that's the sort of thing that can follow you around forever in politics, I dare say there's some more skeletons to be found.

His skillset is made for foreign secretory, but I think he'd be great as home secretary also - the home office has been going downhill ever since Blunkett left!

Also him having left politics for a job at Harvard might be an issue :lolol:

There's absolutely no ****ing way she wrote this tweet

[tweet]1542508834278612993[/tweet]

Agreed, not a chance. That's a tweet written by an aide after prising the phone out of her hands after she's collapsed into an alcohol-fuelled snooze on the train back to London.

Alistair Campbell the war criminal [emoji2357]

That an opinion of course which you are entitled to

In the case of Johnson, just an observation. A convicted criminal...
