Ah, got you. It’s everyone else’s fault.

Well In an election it is yes, that’s how they work.

I know you can’t see anything that Labour have done is wrong, but when even Labour Party members said the same, do you not think they have a point?

All they did was split the vote in certain seats.

If nothing changes, expect the same result.

How many teachers or nurses have 'bring a bottle to the staffroom, days'?

And how many teachers or nurses make the laws?

I’ve voted LibDem in the last three elections, and Tory in 2010.
I didn’t like Jeremy Corbyn so you’ve read me completely wrong.

So you called out someone for saying Corbyn wasn’t electable and then admit you don’t like him or vote for him yourself!

The reason that we have a Johnson led Government is because a lot of people voted for a Johnson led Government. Trying to claim anything else is just whataboutism

Which makes it all the more surprising that none of them have been able to answer the question I posted on this thread 4 months ago

The thing I struggle to understand is when, for so many who voted for Johnson in the Leave campaign and/or subsequent General Election, did this superb economic strategist, excellent international negotiator, master of diplomacy and brilliant leader of the UK Government that you decided was the man to take Britain forward into a new age, become a proven lying, duplicitous, unscrupulous, self obsessed, deceitful, unprincipled, corrupt, egotistical ****

Did it happen gradually over the last 2 years or was there a certain point that made you think, 'my goodness, he's changed completely since I voted for him'

No response yet. I guess that we all give him a chance to do the honorable thing for the first time in his life before every one of us with a Tory MP writes them a short message along the lines of:

'I trust that you'll be submitting your letter of no confidence to the 1922 committee today. Keeping a Prime Minister who has lied to parliament and the country about having broken laws that he made is not an option for a democratic country governed by the rule of law. There is simply no way of excusing this and any MP who tries to do so would be failing the electorate by prioritising the career of one man over their sworn responsibility to Queen and country.'

The oath that they swear to become an MP states:

"I (name of Member) swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God."

Or

"I (name of Member) do solemnly, sincerely, and truly declare and affirm, that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors, according to law."

Just written to mine on similar lines, let’s see what he comes up with.

You seem to be arguing different points.

Nobody but the Conservatives are at fault for the disgusting mess running the country. They alone are responsible for kicking out moderates and replacing them with Brexit-backing nodding dogs who are forever saying "This country wants to move on and Boris is the best man to lead us" every time yet another disgusting resign-worthy misdemeanour comes to light.

And the Labour party are certainly deluded if they think they can ever gain power with a left-wing shadow cabinet running their show. Whatever you think of their policies, the media simply won't allow it - they'd rather smear them than promote an honest debate.

So here we are, a costly (and in my view, damaging) Brexit has been implemented, we have a chancellor who makes stupid arguments why energy firms can't be taxed for their obscene profits despite it being clear that the people at the bottom are in a desperate situation, a government that has allowed their chums to waste obscene amounts of money on stuff like PPE that doesn't work, but is too mean to think through how universal credit might work for people who need it. And you can bet it is all because they don't want to face awkward dinner party conversations with party donors rather than anything resembling a principle.

All in all, this is the worst government we've ever had by a mile, and it isn't really fair to blame opposition parties beyond having a bit of delusion.

I agree that Corbyn would have been way more competent than Johnson- almost anyone would be

unfortunately he failed to convince large swathes of the British public (plus an absolute hatchet job carried out by the right wing media)

I think he did inspire a huge swathe of people, he was undermined by the media (Nonsense about him being unpatriotic and anti-semitic) and the traitors in his own party (Forde Report) otherwise I'm convince he would now be leading this country in a much more appropriate and morally responsible way.

And The opposition vote was split, they would have won - but they wouldn’t have an 80 seat majority.

It’s utterly depressing, the worst part is I can’t really see a way out.

The Tories haven’t got the backbone to kick him out, well enough of them anyway.

The timing of all this has saved him, 6 weeks ago and he would have been toast, I’m not even sure they will get battered in the local elections with the Ukraine issue going on.

My point, badly out is the only way I can see them losing is if Labour/Libs and possibly the SNP have a pact - but will that happen?

As a Lib Dem voter my preference is for PR, but it isn't going to happen any time soon. Therefore, I agree Labour and Lib Dem should merge and let Labour's Corbyn, McDonnell and their hard left cronies form a Socialist Party.

There is virtually no difference from the political ethos of a Layla Moran from a Rachel Reeves, Keir Starmer from Ed Davey, Tim Farron from Wes Streeting.

I wonder how many Tories are going to come out in defence on Johnson if he is likely to receive further FPNs.

If this is correct (and I can see no reason to suspect it isn't) then three parties have been investigated so far

May 20, 2020: The infamous “bring your own booze” party in the Downing Street garden.
June 18, 2020: A new party uncovered by Sue Gray at 70 Whitehall to mark the departure of a No 10 private secretary.
June 19, 2020: Boris Johnson’s “surprise” birthday party in his Downing Street flat. Carrie Johnson led staff in a chorus of Happy Birthday while the PM was presented with a cake.

With another 9 to go

November 13, 2020: Two parties. One in the No 11 flat, said to have been thrown by Carrie to celebrate the exit of Dominic Cummings. The second next door for Lee Cain, the PM’s departing director of communications.
December 17, 2020: Three parties. Kate Josephs, former Director General of the Covid Taskforce, given a send off. There was a Cabinet Office “Christmas party”, with an online quiz. Thirdly, a gathering in No 10 for the departure of an official.
December 18, 2020: The big Christmas party at No 10, first revealed by the Mirror. Downing Street dodged questions for a week before bombshell video emerged of staff joking about it.
January 14, 2021: Revealed for the first time as part of Sue Gray’s report is a gathering in No 10 Downing Street on the departure of two private secretaries.
April 16, 2021: Two parties took place and later joined together on the eve of Prince Philip's funeral. Despite the Union flag flying at half mast at Buckingham Palace and the Queen attending her late husband’s funeral alone, Downing Street staff wheeled a suitcase filled with wine into No 10.

What happened to the infamous garden party with them all lounging around drinking wine with Cummings? Think Carrie was there too which negates the argument it was a works do!!
