The absolute uselessness of both the Met and Sussex OB is exactly why conspiracy is nonsesnse.

These people can't even stop their own Diplomatic Protection officers raping and killing women or drones shutting down Gatwick Airport or Palace fans storming The Amex (and then lie about it).

The idea that they would be organised enough to be "in" on some world wide Masonic plot is hilarious.

Nevertheless, there are people in the Met who are connected to the Government and Pritti Patel is their ultimate boss, so collusion certainly isn't a totally left field idea.

I have been trying to think this through.
I'm not into conspiracy theories, I am just trying to get to grip with what may have happened behind closed doors.
Patel is the boss, The Met have been in a right mess for years, racism and corruption is rife and although root and branch investigations have been promised many times nothing seems to happen.
Cressida Dick is clearly hopeless but remains in her job, Patel is a nasty, devious bully.
The ministers have spent the whole week embarrassingly saying wait for the report to give them time to sort this out and release it late on Friday as they always do.
Patel tells Dick 'this is what you are going to do and this is how it will happen, or else you are toast'
But Patel can't do that unless she has been put under pressure by Johnson to do so, because if she blows the gaff on Dick and The Met then she is leaving herself wide open as The Home Secretary.
The ex commissioner of The Met has said today that there is no reason why the report could not be released in full as it won't go to court, it was just going to be fines, the report would not hinder the investigation.
Clearly to me this can only be collusion to stop the full report being published because we all know that Johnson is guilty of breaking his own rules and lying to the public and Parliament.
Release this on Friday so that all his nodding dogs are fully prepared to deflect all the questions on Monday.
Yet again this PM and this government are taking the piss out of the public, treating us like fools, especially those that died and there families including The Queen.
And all this on top of the all the mistakes and unnecessary deaths caused by Johnson through the pandemic.
And still people will vote for him to continue as PM when they get the chance.
A nation of idiots led by a dangerous fool.

There is no conspiracy just complete uselessness, ingrained practices and resistance to change.

The MET took a lot of abuse for not getting involved, possibly unfairly because their policy has always been to never investigate breaches that happened in the past.

Once the penny has dropped that this is rather more serious than that (because it appears it's the rule makers breaking the rules) they go into defensive mode and decide to investigate.

Then the MET goes into box ticking mode and act as if they had investigating in the first place and **** up the release of the report. They don't do nuance up here.

They should have either investigated in the first place or (after making the decision not to) kept well away.

USELESS.

Gods country fortnightly
So first the met said we had to wait for the Sue Gray report and now the Sue Gray report say we have to wait for the met.

Johnson escapes again, he and his cronies are laughing at everyone

On this whole Met Police stuff. I’m in no way a conspiracy theorist but

A question that I'm struggling with: will the delay of the report actually benefit Johnson?
Yes: it buys him some time, the public get more bored by this.
No: it drags this issue on, there's no closure, etc

What else?
There seems little doubt that Cressida Dick is corrupt, and will announce her retirement just before whenever the next GE is.

this has been going on for 7 weeks already, the general public are past bored. delay doesnt change the outcome, either there's wrong doing or not. if there is the papers and MPs will turn on him. it doesnt need thought beyond mismanagment.

Colluding to kick this into the long grass, pending Russia invading Ukraine. Johnson is now keeping every finger and toe crossed for that to happen.

It's an interesting question, HMG/Boris has taken a big hit in public support (rightly so), this will be hard to turn around as the issues are about trust and honesty. My gut says the longer it drags on the more likely he will survive but there is a concerted campaign to get Boris from all sides of the political spectrum so he is nowhere near safe yet.

Isn't that last comment a tad libellous/defamatory?

I'm definitely not interested who did what unless they are senior.

Number 10 is clearly infested with bright young things who 1) think they know everything 2) will go along with anything and anyone to progress their careers.

However, I do believe in forgiveness and redemption and having utterly crapped their pants over the last few weeks, I'd hope they'd thought very hard about the last few weeks.

Mainly resolving the important "my career/I am a ****" conundrum.

I really want to know about the culture, how long it has been going, what measures are being taken to resolve it and who in particularly allowed a suitcase full of wine (and a f@@@@@ new wine cooler) to be delivered to Number 10 to keep the staff happy during the middle of a pandemic.

********s.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but in an increasingly far fetched and unbelievable saga this seems to me to be quite believable, especially given that Patel is a massive Johnson arse licker. And don't get me started on Cressida f**king Dick!

Johnson and Patel will I believe, have absolutely instructed Dick to take this course of action. It's all about muddying the waters and drawing it out until either the public no longer care or a bigger story comes along.

I also think we will only ever see the heavily redacted Gray report while the Met investigation will result in some small fines. Then Boris Johnson is able to say

"Uhm look, ladies and gentlemen, we have, uh uh uh uh followed this through to the very uh uh very uh uh bitter uh end, I think you'll um agree ladies and uh uh uh gentlemen that the police, indeed the finest police force in the uh uh uh uh world ladies and gentlemen, have indeed punished those uh responsible and we now consider the matter uh indeed closed. Look over there! A dinosaur" *scurries back indoors*

I feel it is time now for the Queen to step in and kick Johnson into touch and for Khan to step in and start holding the Met to account. It really feels like we have been abandoned.

Hopefully, like Watergate, it will be the inept attempt at a cover up rather than the relatively minor crime that will see this habitual liar meet his downfall.

This is getting completely out of control now and soon people will start talking to sources.

Nearly all Saturday front pages are anti-Boris/anti-Met. as they have been for seven weeks. To no avail.

I really hope so. This is getting ridiculous.

Chin up Clampy, the longer he hangs on the more damage is done to the Tory brand making it more difficult for them at the next GE even if they eventually get a new leader.

It’s more than Johnson now. I’d like to see him gone to see the look on his face but we’ll only get a more capable member of the Rotter’s Club in his place. Unless we get Truss, who is one of the dumbest Mother****ers to ever walk God’s green earth.
There’s no real good outcome to these investigations, is there?

It always run the same with the Tories. Remember, we have a mostly right wing media.

Dump Johnson, get rid of some cabinet deadwood, and install a cuddly leader. Start talking about new post Covid beginnings. Next election sown up. Remember Major ?

Jeremy Hunt, anyone ?

Sadly I think this current obsession with cake and parties is missing the big picture... and I dont directly mean the Ukraine issue, though it is connected. I am simply going to say energy crisis... prices, capacity and the 'green' politics leading us to unsustainable energy policy.... renewables are not the answer.

Germany is at crisis point, eliminating nuclear in favour of greener strategies and yet still is on an upward trend of fossil fuel usage, and enormous reliance on Russia for its ability to maintain production.

Watch closely over the next three years what happens to energy prices...

Thats the big story, not effin cake.

Yep, I said pretty much the same several pages back. Wait until those fuel bill direct debits start doubling*. That will focus the minds of those protecting the government at the moment... **

*British gas have kindly offered me a fixed tariff until December 2023 for £205 per month, double the £100 I am currently paying.

** I appreciate the fuel crisis isn't all of the current government's making, but nor was the world financial crash Labours, but it did for them!
