It does, but not anywhere near as big as the Tories. It's been heading in the wrong direction ever since they first got in, with a pre-covid trend line that would still put the list over the 250 line by the time they (hopefully) get voted out at the next GE.

Tories love to try to pin the blame for everything on Covid and the challenges it presented. And, to a certain extent, that's fair: covid did (and continues to do) have an impact. Probably a bigger impact than it should thanks to Boris and Rishi mishandling of it all, but still even a Labour government would have faced head winds from covid. The thing is, any smart voter out there (or, indeed, any smart politician) can easily look at statistics like that graph (and others) and point out that the rot started before Covid. It started before Brexit. Covid and Brexit have made it worse, but the underlying root cause is Tory-led austerity and mismanagement.

The NHS should be everyone's nightmare, it's not fit for purpose in 2024 with the way it's set, thankfully Labour are open to reform as well and not just throw more money at it.

Not against Reform (not the fash party), such as large organisation can always be reformed.

But social care needs to be urgently addressed, bed blocking is a huge issue and leading also to patients being released too early which ends up being counter productive.

Then there's the overall health of the nation, we're the fatties of Europe, sick and mal-nourished. The State needs to intervene and stop the rot
