He's looked promising on the rare 1st team apps he's had, I thought Poyet may have given him more of a chance by now.

He hasn't though, has he. I'm not slagging the bloke off, at his age he needs games and we're not the type of club who take the chance on younger players at the moment so he needs a loan out to league 1 or league 2 to get some games in and then see whether he's actually a talent or not. I suspect he isn't, because by the age of 21 you'd like to think he'd have forced his way in and done a bit more than have a decent cameo at Peterborough, where he did set up a goal and look promising. He needed a proper run after that, and didn't get it. And never will.

So if you're gonna put Toby in and let him be an out and out forward then surely we'd be better off letting Barnes play there for a change? Can't see the sense in dropping Barnes and then letting Toby play as a main striker when Barnes is proven as a quality striker when played there??

For what it's worth I'd like to see us play with less fear at home for a while and actually GO at the opposition with two strikers, not holding my breath though.

we are very defensive , what's the point of having all these spanish flairmogers when we are so defensive ........i would love to think that gus is letting the squad gell before he unleashes the beast but as far as i can see if we get a big man up front it's game on.........that's it from me.

The first of 13 (THIRTEEN), that's right. :lolol:
You heard it here third.

I did originally put 11, but realised it might look like shaky finger syndrome, had the game ended 1-1.
So I changed to 13.

I bet, knowing my lucky we'll win 12-1.

Gus does not play our youngsters,he could learn a few things from the stains set up down the road, but as we all know Gus never gets anything wrong

There is a huge gulf in class between our young players and Southamptons to the point that there is no comparison whatsoever. Agdestein is pretty woeful from what I've seen and doubt he'll ever make much impact in English football.

If only there was some kind of link between our last quality yoof set up, say 10 years ago, and Southampton's set up now.

He impressed at Peterborough, but that's it. He hasn't done anything else for the first team and hasn't done much for the Development Squad either. He deffinitely needs a loan move to get some games, and not to Bath City!
Do you really think he has had enough game time to make his mark?.... give him two starts and then make a judgement. What I have seen so far leads me to believe he has what it takes, as many say he maybe needs a half season loan in L1, then bring him back, give him a three year contract and watch him fly.... but of course thats just my opinion.

And that has realy improved JFCs game from what i`ve heard

sometimes its not about improving a players ability, as much as his attitude towards the game, i suspect also with JFC he maybe expected to play every week, and sometimes sitting on the bench for a team who you may think you should be the first name on the teamsheet, can improve his mental ability as a footballer

This the answer he needs to go out on loan to a Div 1 side to see if he has got what it takes. I must say I have never been impressed when I have seen him and would think that the reason he hasn't been on the bench is because Gus has doubts seeing him in training every day.

Does he have the capacity to play regular effective football for a top 30 team?

I'd hazard a guess if the answer was yes, he'd be playing by now.

Well we know that Dobbie has that ability you talk of, proven,.... but he still gets sidelined.
