will it boost ratings though? all i hear is that Americans dont want a conflict, some suggesting its an exit strategy (Iraq kicks US out). i dont believe that but its interesting that its a conclusion or desire people come to. seems a significant group of Trump support doesnt want interventionist policy, wouldnt vote for him if he drags them into all out war.

My thoughts are that the Iranians launched their missiles earlier but were expecting a rapid / immediate response from Trump so all air defences on red alert in Iran. And yes sadly we have a Ukrainian plane shot down in error. Much like the Russians brought down the Air Malaysia flight over Ukraine a few years back.

That would be why the Iranians are holding on to the black boxes.

The Ukraine airline involved say the plane is modern, recently serviced and had a good. reliable crew.
