I would love to finish top 4, but I just cant see us finishing above all of Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Dreams are free, so I will continue to dream.
As a fan base we need to stay humble but SMASH inferiority complex. Hugely difficult balancing act - but fortunately we can operate in plain sight because no f***ing pundit will ever include us in the discussion👍

The thing is, we are virtually as good as them on our day. Trouble is we probably don't have quite as much quality strength in depth although some may argue that we do with players still coming back from injuries?
Liverpool are way out in front as they simply keep winning but 2nd downwards is anyone's(apart from Palace of course)🤣

This season I see Liverpool as a cut above, everyone else out there is beatable for us if we can keep our concentration and hunger.

Next season will be different again, but it’s one of the things I love about football. This year we could genuinely finish anywhere between 2nd and 12th. I don’t see us any lower than 12th, even if our season falls apart a bit in the 2nd half. Neither Arsenal nor Chelsea are flawless, almost all to play for.

Which brings me onto something that’s been bothering me for a while, where’s the line between confidence and entitlement? I now believe we can go toe to toe with anyone in this league.

Is it entitlement to think this way, or just confidence in a good team playing well?

Maybe confidence that we've ground out results without playing particularly well?. Next few games will give more clarity if we can turn over Saints Leicester West Ham Palace, the teams which are in lower reaches presently!

Agree completely. No point beating Man City if you’re then going to fold to no-hopers like those. 😁

26 tough games to go???.... get your money on top 8 as a more realistic aspiration.

Liverpool, Arsenal, and City all have 5-6 genuine proven world class players and big squads and Chelsea have clicked. On our day we will give them all a game but over a season its going to be hard to finish above them. Our best chance of top four is City getting a big points deduction.

Being realistic here very much. 26 tough games and no gimme's that's for sure. Bottom team saints will be as tough as anyone so far and I'm sure Fab will have the lads well drilled for them. They gave Liverpool a tough game today so don't expect them to be rolled over by us. Hope we smash them though🤞

I’d argue that City are currently proving that they don’t have a big squad. Arsenal and Chelsea are currently level on points with us on merit, so it may come down to head to head record.

We have a fairly decent squad btw, perhaps for the first time in our history.

Nice to think our best days are still ahead of us.
To the songs that sing of glory and the brave
Are we dreaming there are better days to come?
When will the banners and the victory parades celebrate the day a better world is won?
On the day the storm has just begun I will still hope there are better days to come.

Agree to most of your points but think over the season those have European football which in a way helps us NOT having it! City struggling with injures, Arsenal bemoaning their injures and we're in the mix with them. It'll be very tough to keep in the mix but we're in with a chance presently.

The markets deem us 7th material. With no European games, looks about right, head over heart. Whilst we can dream of even higher.
