Worst pub in Sourthern England, let alone Brighton and Hove.

Id say the worst are The Nevill, The Station & Weatherspoons.

Always was okay but that was 15 years or so ago. The Mill House in Portslade surely is a strong contender. Hasthat not closed or reopened again?TrevorDove said:Dyke Road Tavern gets my vote.
Although the Thai food isn't half bad.

So I was rudely told, on the doorstep, that I could take my hat off or do the other thing. Had we not arranged to meet people in the pub I'd have willingly chosen the second option.
Going back to the other thread on what makes a pub; The Sportsman is NOT a pub but a family restaurant which happens to sell beer (& not particularly good beer at that). This does not make it a pub in my view.Tom Hark said:Blimey. That just about sums up the crappiness of The Sportsman, a 'pub' of no redeeming qualities other than it's next to the ground. What a waste of space. Literally.

Lets face it, if you are going out for a night to the pub; you would not choose the Sportman, in a million years.
If you are taking youngish children for a meal you may well go there as I did when my kids were small but thank god, not anymore.
