where would you expect the funding to come from mate ....?? we can rattle on about submarines , illegal immigration , net zero etc etc but at the end of the day the British government will do what it's told , currently it's priority seem s too be to pick up anyone floating around in a dinghy in the channel , get them back to terra firma in the UK and get them put up in a hotel , it may not be so but it's what it looks like and it's how the rest of the world is seeing it , brief conversations with Russians and Saudi's recently whilst on hollibobs ended up with the question being asked " what's wrong with your government..?? are they mad ..?" had some good chats to be honest , guys from Siberia who work in oil and gas and get paid in U.S .D ...going to Phuket for 6 weeks every year , when I asked what was wrong with his govt. he said proudly that "Putin governs for Russia and Russians , nobody else " Couple of reasonably intelligent Saudi IT guys reckoned the situation in UK "can't end well " and that we " must get rid " so it's not just the British who are intrigued ( for want of a better word) by the boat situation ........you can rest assured that the money trail will always find its way back to the usual suspects , there are 34 new declared billionaires in the uk in the last 32 months , where has that money come from ...?
Sounds like a lot of confirmation bias to me…

Apologies for my previous answer. Tired and struggling to read.

Your last sentence answers your first as far as I am concerned. How the UK etc get into a situation where they are not shafted by billionaires is another question.

Is this you saying that our prime minister should start trying to invade other countries and be more like Muslims? Which part of Saudi should we copy? Beatings for anyone disagreeing with the leaders? Illegal homosexuality? Ban alcohol?

Could there be any countries with more wealth inequality than Saudi?

you asked me to read a twitter post , I assumed you'd watched/read it.🐝🐝🐝🤪
No I asked you to read several NSC posts, not links to twitter.

Yesterday our home secretary read the riot act over all this, avoiding making much of the fact that the inquiry was published two years ago and three successive tory 'prime ministers' immediately and thoroughly ignored it.

I am listening on the radio now to people involved in the public inquiry set up by the Tories complaining that the public inquiry set up by the Tories was not wide-reaching enough.

All of this is shit. I don't dispute that.
What I dispute is the public statements by scum like Musk that this is due to evil Starmer.
That is a disgraceful hi-jacking of an important issue for naked political purposes.

And the scum grifter Yaxley-Lennon actually destroyed a prosecution by his wankish actions.
And 'people' still 'support' him.
Dear oh dear.

" confirmation bias " I'm sorry , I'm not up to date with all the UK "auto dismiss" phrases , you think that a lot of other first world countries aren't thoroughly confused with what is happening in the UK ...?? you are very much mistaken.
Just an observation but you put a lot of stock in what people say to you in different places. Essentially it is 'a bloke said down the pub' but more international.

Beyond agreeing with your view on things (this is the confirmation bias, BTW) what were the qualifications of the blokes in the pub?

A bloke down the pub told me that Starmer is a vice deacon in the Illuminati.

Could you clarify exactly what these people think is happening in the U.K., that is particular to the U.K. and couldn’t be levied at much or most of Europe?

Twitter is (was) really useful for "what is happening right now?" queries (e.g. "why is there a helicopter circling overhead?"), and I'm not aware of a suitable replacement currently available, but I've logged out and deleted the app.
There's always local Facebook groups for "why is the helicopter out", "who left this empty beer can on the street?" and "the kids are laughing too loud at the playground" type of things for those who are into that kind of stuff.

I terms of confirmation bias, and I mean this in the nicest possibly way, I think if I met Syd in a bar and he started banging on about UK politics, grooming gangs and immigrants, I would politely agree with him too.

so now we're believing what's available on twitter and taking it as gospel are we...?? not double standards here then... 18 months for contempt of court and yet many of the groomers never saw the inside of a cell , the North of England where most of this took place is now waking up , there is a lot of anger , a sense of betrayal by Starmer who was CP at the time ,on line petition to call an emergency election has over 3 million signatures , not that it will do any good , anyway it appears that the Neanderthal element in England also has a penchant for underage sex which is sickening and the fact he hasn't openly condemned them is another nail in his coffin , it also wipes away any political aspirations he may have which is probably a good thing. There are reams of literature to be found coming from victims of the gangs also.
I would never be cowardly enough to be lectured on my country by a Russian and a Saudi.

If it came to governance, they’d not get a word in edgeways as I told them how c***ish and evil their governments are.

well what people see on social media goes a lot deeper than what you see on the BBC , some of it may be skewed or maybe not , if you are not addicted to social media as the vast majority of the globe appears to be currently then I guess there's a bit of a chance you may not be aware of the general theft and looting being carried out by what is , by suggestion , illegal immigrants in and around London....that is what is perceived

Are they the new billionaire's you spoke about in the previous post?

Or are they the ones that are okay, that Nige helped get passports for?

who's getting lectured ?? it was a discussion over a few beers ffs , it's what grown ups do , I asked the Russian blokes why they weren't fighting they said they were too old but when they went back home if they were called they would go , they told me of a friend of their who was contacted in Thailand by Russian Authorities and told if he wasn't back in Russia within 14 days all his assets would be seized , by having conversations with people you find things out first hand , for instance one of the Saudi lads told me that they would have to purge before they went home for 72 hrs as they have random urine tests returning home and if anything showed up they would be in big trouble.

oh very droll , yes very , very good. I would say it's more likely to be the already rich getting grotesquely richer , wouldn't you.
I'll be honest Syd I am not really sure who you are currently presenting as the villains at the moment.

I'll assume we are in agreement that less billionaires would be better all round for everyone.

This way the police, protective services and social workers could be more adequately funded to protect vulnerable people.

well if we actually knew who the enemy was it would make it easier to do something about it , I think we are currently the victim of a political system that goes way beyond Starmers Labour and The Tories , our govt does what its told from above but by whom I'm not sure , they certainly don't seem to be acting in the public interest and Starmer and Khan have been on the wrong side for decades ...thats my opinion.

Anyone - yes, ANYONE - who gets the amount of publicity (he's even mentioned here from time to time) he does will get some sort of following.

Those who think he is some clever demagogue mastermind are wrong - he's not intelligent enough - and those who see him as the voice of truth or reason also need their heads checked.

The guy is a loser, used for various purposes. Ignore him and he'll go away like Paris Hilton or other "media celebs".
