No it's not.

Our 5,390 today compares rather badly with today's average League One crowd of 7.568. If you ignore the Forest crowd, the average was 6,660.

Only Bournemouth and Port Vale had smaller crowds.

I stand corrected......but I have always used the arguement that 5k for a 3rd divi team is about it

If I was an executive with the club, I would be casting a very jaundiced eye at attendances like that and Falmer on the horizon. I can see an opening day sell out, but after that.........?

But when we were in the 3rd division last time we were getting far better crowds ... and that was a playoff season so presume we were around the same place in the table.

What was the price of admission that season?

The crowds were only about 600 to 800 bigger than today to be fair. There were afew games that the attendance was only just over 6,000 and about 4 or 5 that were under. The lowest that season was 5,642 which is not even 300 more than today against Wrexham which funny enough was the last weekend of November.
Brighton 2-0 Wrexham

I was paying £22 a ticket in the south stand, so the prices haven't realy risen that steeply in the few years.

Couldn,t agree more. Just because in the first season back at Withdean...( a mediocre mid-table finish) the queues for tickets on a Monday before the game stretched from the ticket office almost to Brighton station, this Board of Directors..(led by Dick Knight) decided that having a park stadium with no investment...( other than the laughable 2-3 years it took to put in the 900 seats for the away supporters) was quite sufficient for us.How wrong they were, and are...!

After 8 years at Withdean.(...and at least another 3-4 more years) people are totally pissed off with the facilities. This Board of Directors do everything at a snails pace. Have we even invited/received tenders for the building of the stadium yet.......?
Large construction companies offer estimates long before full planning is given, just in the hope of getting their foot in the door first. I,m sure I read somewhere, that the club will be inviting tenders in January 2008...!
The momentum of receiving planning permission months and months ago is already lost with the stay-away supporters.
The silence from the club is almost deafening.The cheap tickets offer is a clear sign of their desperation...(...and far too late I fear).

just wait for that big 3rd round tie or the wembley visit in the jpt....nothing will be a problem for anyone in the scramble for tickets !

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

There probably will be a scramble for tickets if we make it to the 3rd round of the FA Cup to a big club....(away) or Wembley, both of which will have something in common..........a Stadium with a roof and decent facilities...! :laugh::laugh:
