i was in the home end when we played brentford there 2 years ago and the same thing happened to kuipers. he went to retrieve the ball and got spat on by several people and generally abused for the rest of the game. so i was glad to see some payback yesterday!

Ahhh didums, did some of you hear some nasty bigger boys saying some naughty words.

Every time something a bit close to the line happens some softcocks come on here and cry about it. Obviously I can't condone spitting and coin throwing but there's nothing wrong with some verbals to the opposition players, who cares if they call him a rapist or paedo, I'm sure he'll get over it.

Christ pretty sure it didn't bother him, few people shouting abuse. The bottle and coin that were thrown were a bit pathetic but thats football

Nope, throwing coins and bottles is not football. Banter is, "you're shit ahhhhhhhh" is, "Lewis Price, is a wanker, is a wanker", that's football. Banter, and general football related abuse is football. Anything involving families/skin colour/throwing things is specifically not. I would hope there were no "pasty white bastard" chants at Murray yesterday.

Giving the opposition goalie a bit of verbal is traditional , throwing objects isn't. You will always get knobheads at games. The chant for Murray isn't pasty white bastard its lazy northern bastard

Ah right, well that's perfectly acceptable, all facts considered! Still, I love Glenn Murray. He is absolute quality, and despite what people have been saying on here, I do think he still wants to play for the club. But if his girlfriend is getting on at him to move back up north, what can he do? There's no question what has to come first in life. Personally, I would only ever want to play for Brighton. But there is another club I would play for if it had positive implications on my private life! Even if it is a hopeless club which isn't really going anywhere.

I'd say that's pretty much spot on.

Glenn Murray is the Albion version of Joleon Lescott. If he doesn't want to stay , the club should be trying to sell him rather than say he is contracted for another season and he is a valuable asset to the club. All thats going to happen , is him being more injury prone and he will leave when his contract runs out even if we get promoted.

Banter involves a modicum of intelligence and/or wit. Do you think repeatedly calling Price 'rapist' and 'paedophile' satisfies that definition?

It was all banter from where I was standing. He appeared to be giving some back too, and at no point did I hear any rapist/paedophile chanting. But then again, you do get some fuckwits who attend games, and will always be the case.

You really are an embarrassment.

For those who were not there;

The oppo keeper (Lewis Price) went to retrieve the ball from us after it went wide and some immature loser/hilarious gagster threw it miles over his head.

Price shook his head a bit and looked pretty unimpressed. For this HEINOUS CRIME (treating the person with the contempt he deserved) he then got abuse for the rest of the game.

Some people really are pathetic.

Bloody hell mate. It was banter and he dealt with it well....

Funny how things change. I can remember standing in the north stand at the Goldstone and the opposition keeper always got a clap (even John Burridge) when he came towards the stand, society is changing I guess.

That said, they still got the classic 'you're shit aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' at every goal kick!

Well well well.. I never thought that I would be called an immature loser/hilarious gangster for doing such a nasty thing to this poor helpless Mr. Price... What kind of sheltered life must you live Chesney.. where is that sense of humour of yours??
I threw the ball over his head and actually got it quite close to where the goal kick was being taken from.(silly me)
Please accept my apology Chesney for this moment of pure madness, I have written a letter to Brentford asking them to say sorry to Lewis Price.
Hopefully this will be the end of the matter, but next time just come over and tell me to my face.

I was at the game with two neutrals, both of whom were loving the - very funny - stick that he was copping - and they were joining in manfully and it was all very good fun.

That is, until stuff started getting thrown at him. "That's actually pretty f***ing pathetic" was one of their reaction. I'd totally go along with that.

As, for that matter, is this "ah well, that's all part and parcel" drivel.

At one point I thought I saw CHEWING GUM thrown at him. That is pwoper f***ing naughty that is; hats off to our top boy foot soldiers. Maybe they could graduate to other items of confectionary next, like liquorice rope or flying saucers.

I didn't say I agreed with it, but until the authorities actually do something about throwing stuff on the pitch then it will be a part of foootball

That's a pretty lame argument. For a start, if a steward/copper DID identify a thrower then action would be taken. Unfortunately it's not that simple in a crowd of hundreds or thousands.

The fact that it's a relatively easy crime to get away with doesn't mean people should do it.
