Oh I don't disagree with you but on the flip side you could not expect sell out crowds, thousands on the st waiting list if we get relegated. You are right we are a growing fan base but I doubt we could command a fan base as big as Wednesday in the Championship, especially if we were struggling as they seem to be......no we would be back to 18 to 22 k at best in their posistion hence I consider they are a far bigger club than we are.....or Bournemouth, Watford, Palace ect ect ect

??? Average gate for every season in the Championship after The Amex was completed was around 26-28K.

Yeah leave em alone guys. They’re suffering as it is and we didn’t (and still don’t) like the arrogance of so called bigger clubs.

We’re clearly a club on the up, and there’s a lot to be envious of. One of the best British chairman in the country If not the PL, an actual fan of the club. A great stadium, a blossoming youth academy and one of the most exciting young English coaches.

That’s a lot to be arrogant about right there, so we should just keep it classy, smile and pat them on their way.

This. I have never quite understood why we get so het up about eejits on other clubs' forums. It is not as if the views of 0.001% of their fanbase actually reflects those of the other 99.999% even if it pricks our bloated pride that a very small number of other fans don't appreciate us.

Are they still likely to get a MASSIVE points deduction for financial chicanery?

They do remind me a bit of an old rockstar who really believes he was as big as the Beatles in the Sixties, but is now touring Butlins because that’s the only way he can play to the few people who remember him.

Indeed. Could be as many as 21 points, I hear. Very sad.

There are more massive things - closer to home - for Sheffield Wednesday fans to worry about than belittling us.

Perhaps they are just in denial and distracting themselves

Probably because they have hosted World Cup ('66), European Championships ('96) matches and numerous FA Cup semi-finals over the years.

More due to geographic location than the actual playing element of the club though.

That only makes theirs a big ground. Of course, the Amex capacity somewhat limits our potential as we'll never be able to squeeze more than another couple of hundred seats in anywhere, but as there are always empty seats scattered around, perhaps it's not something we need to worry about.

Burnley and Bournemouth are certainly smaller clubs than Brighton. Coventry have had more success than us. Certainly spent more time in the top flight and won the FA Cup.

Wednesday are a bang average club though. Get a good crowd when things are on the up but most can't be bothered outside those infrequent times.

Burnley are much bigger than us.

Bournemouth smaller though

Imagine being in a division LOWER than a tinpot team.

Marvellous scenes!!!!

Also imagine only being the second biggest team in your own city too.

Clearly overcompensating with their MASSIVE half empty stadium.

For me, tinpot is epitomised by the use of:

- goal music
- big flags behind the goals waved when the home team scores
- bubbles
- clackers (yes, I know we did this but learnt our lesson) especially regularly
- music like Glad All Over and Z-Cars
- fecking drums to try and coordinate people's chanting and generate an atmosphere
- use of a megaphone to try and do the above as well

"
Problem us that it's this kind of attitude that makes us so unpopular.

All this big and small club stuff is balls. 20 years out of the top flight and a half full stadium that's falling down says we are not a big club. Brighton have a new stadium that's full every week and are hosting the likes of Liverpool and Man City every week.

These so-called smalls clubs are bringing in a quarter of a billion a year with a worldwide TV audience. In the world of football these days, we are the tinpot club, not them."

Lots of upvotes for this comment on there

Never understood this "who's the bigger club?" stuff.

We all know who the big clubs are if we want to go and (pretend to) support them.

Support Bournemouth if you come from Dorset. Palace if you come from Croydon. Brighton if you come from Sussex. Otherwise we might as well all follow Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Some intelligent, but many scummy fans along with Boro and Villa.

Each have false delusions of grandeur. Hopefully they’ll remain insignificant for many more decades to come. Forever bitter that Liverpool, ManU etc are light years ahead of what they bizarrely think was their entitlement.

Far better to follow a club like the Albion where our goals are realistic.
