All the time MM is manager he has my full support. No ground, no budget, yeh, you really need a prima donna thrown in to the relegation dog fight we all knew we would be in.
I'm ex Chelsea. f*** off, roll your sleaves up and prove it.
I'm sick of this bollocks.

Thought experiment.

Leon is chosen.
Leon scores.
It's the bloody Championship Goal of the Week.
Guess what -- Albion lose 3-1.
You may, for experimental purposes, assume he gets a second goal as well.

Apart from the goal difference, what changes?

Now what's the pat solution? Which simple fix do we demand?

Why do people think Leon is the difference between us winning or losing against the likes of Stoke? He is a good player but nothing special in this division and his record proves that. I'm glad Mcghee has stood up to him. Do we really want to watch a collection of individuals who sometimes turn it on, or a team that fights week in week out?

The people who need the reality check are those who think we are in for anything other than a relegation battle this season. The primary aim is to finish above three other teams and maintain our status. We are not going to win an awful lot of games this season.

The team has stick together through difficult times and no one player should be allowed to feel he is more important than anyone else. If McGhee thinks that Leon is upsetting the team spirit he is more than entitled to teach him a lesson. The players as much as the fans have to realise that this will not be a pretty season and everyone has to muck in.

On the Knight front, I think he has played excellently this season, but he has not scored enough goals. I'm sure he is feeling frustrated but he should channel it in a positive way not in a fit petulance.

The big hole in our squad is up front. We just need a good old fashioned finisher. We have created plenty of chance in recent games but not taken them, the games against ipswich and wolves may have been different with a composed striker.

We need a midfield general in my opinion who can hold up the ball and distribute. Oh and a left back.

Let me ask a question:
Who is the better professional, Leon Knight or Jake Robinson?

Undoubtedly they are of different ability, but did anyone note Jake's reation today when he got sub'd - he did what I've seen many footballers do in the same situation - he jogged to the touchline (to prove he was still fit to play on) and then turned to his supporters and showed his appreciation of their efforts (usually by clapping hands above head).

LK would do well to see a video of this and learn from it - esp as he doesn't get sub'd very often.

In a clash of personalities, the manager has to be backed if he is to keep the respect of his players. LK cannot be bigger than the team.

Yet played unlike a professional

Totally disagree, he's taken us, Millwall and Reading to promotion, and Wolves to the playoffs and FA cup semis. Who would do any better??

Agreed. Why we let Yeates go to Colchester is a mystery to me.

Watching him on tv recently against Bristol City, I can understand why. Not that good.

Every player has an off game Yorkie and there is no substitute for class, which Yeates has in abundance.

Totally agree, but enjoy this while it lasts, the next victory will probably be met with a thread entitled 'We could make the play offs you know'.

If you sat down and talked to him one on one, you'll realise that's a simply not true. Many on here have done just that and found he is very approachable and an absolutely solid bloke, and an ego in proportion to his ability and track record. And he's staying - he's not going anywhere - so his detractors had better get used to that idea.

The biggest mistake McGhee has made is not in the dropping of Leon from the squad, but then not following it up with a Big Daddy-style spalsh down as a follow-up. That would f***ing hurt, and teach the impertinent little brat a few lessons in manners that he won't forget in a hurry.

leons head is far to small for that massive ego of his..
the sooner he realises that he is a small fish in the championship and not one of the main players him and mcghee might get along.
By the way i'm not alone in my opinion theres plenty more who think he needs to pull his socks up

Because he isn't a midfield general, but a flair player with no end product and who disappears when we don't have the ball. We need a player like that like we need a hole in the head.

McGhee really did take a long look at him but there was no sign that he was working on the flaws on his game, and that's why he's playing at the level he's playing.

Leon'll buckle under soon enough, he always does. Might take a bit of time for him to earn another captain's armband though :)
