All the natural ability in the world is no good without the right attitude.

And yet Rooney will still be first on the team sheet when the England squad is picked.

You can't compare Knight with Rooney.
Regardless of his attitude to refs etc.,Rooney is a gifted player who also works his nuts off on the pitch every game.

Possibly because he knows how to score goals? And create them too?

Not every game if my recollection is correct. Bit like Leon really although rather more gifted, I accept.

And if we had a better midfield with players who passed the ball to Leon's feet, he might actually get a few more goals. Long, high balls are hardly going to get the best out of Knight.

That's right. it's all McGhee's fault and the other ten players in the line-up :lolol:

Funny how these McGhee critics all come out into the sunshine after a defeat but mysteriously disappear back under their rocks after a game like Palace. Nothing like consistency, is there?

McGhee critic? Not me. He has done very well with limited resources but he's not beyond criticism. Nor, it seems, is Leon.

I knew this season would be a dogfight, and I will be delighted with fouth from bottom at the end of the season. Again, MM has had no real money to spend, when it would appear any player who can put his boots on the right feet is worth a million.

As for Mr. Knight his attitude is absoultley deporable. I have watched him shout and scream at his colleagues for not placing the ball inch perfect to his feet, when all he had to do was run an extra yard or so. A few years ago I would have been perpetually shouting at a player like Leon, but I have been told by my fellow fans that it does not help the team, so I now don't.

For me, our manager is right. I am certain he will be talking o the team, and making all the right noises. Mark, does know the team far better than I do for one.

Call this blind faith or optimisim. We will stay up. Mark McGhee is the best manager we have had since Mickey Adams. And if Leon Knight is to be left out of the squad, so be it.

Fair comment Dover. Let's just hope that McGhee and Knight can patch things up. We will have enough difficulty surviving in the Championship without having to cop with unnecessary petty squabbles.

Gerbil, I'm sorry but you are talking cobblers. What will keep us up is team spirit and a good manager. If Leon is going to go around destroying that team spirit with his petulance then perhaps he should move on to another team.

He may be a flair player, but we need someone who can score goals, and 3 so far is not a good enough return.

So go on then who exactly have we got that will score us goals?

I'll tell you 1 thing it's certainly not "Coke Boy".

This is what pisses me off about you.

Can ANYBODY do ANYTHING wrong in your eyes?

Or do you just get off on annoying everyone?

Criticising when things go wrong is the easy bit Gerbil. Its finding the solutions that takes more thought.

And that'll be Magoo's job then won't it.

Personally I think he did wrong as you know.

Just need one old lag striker at the tail-end of his career who knows where the goal is to play alongside the young lads. McGhee wouldn't dream of playing a defence with no experienced central defenders, ditto the midfield. Really need a Ricketts/HitTheBar/Trevor Benjamin type, or one of these big guys Gillingham used to get off a production line. McCammon isn't that player, and never will be. And they don't all cost a king's ransom. Must be plenty of them grubbing about in the lower divisions. Time to flash the cash methinks.

Maybe, maybe not.
But this is the fella thats got us up and kept us up. I think he's EARNT a little more faith than some people are showing him right now.

Given the circumstances, too many draws and then a grotty defeat today (at a place where we ALWAYS get f***-all) doesn't make him a bad manager. Cut the guy some slack.

I've been 100% behind him but results lately and the fact that he's spent money on what seems to be crap are pissing me off slightly.

I agree he worked wonders getting us up and keeping us there but it seems to me that a certain amount of complacency has started to set in,not just with him but with the whole squad.

Not having Leon in the team doesn't help no, i agree there. But Leon needs to learn to respect McGhee's decisions. Hopefully they'll sort it out during the build up to the Palace match.

maybe thats why he was left. would it be a suprise if leon has a stormer against palace, after his little rest.

???

Hopefully McGhee and Leon will have a semi-erotic hug some time between now and the 20th, and then everything will be ok. We all know they love each other really.
