And yet Rooney will still be first on the team sheet when the England squad is picked.

You can't compare Knight with Rooney.Zebedee said:And yet Rooney will still be first on the team sheet when the England squad is picked.

Regardless of his attitude to refs etc.,Rooney is a gifted player who also works his nuts off on the pitch every game.
Bwian said:Possibly because he knows how to score goals? And create them too?
Zebedee said:And if we had a better midfield with players who passed the ball to Leon's feet, he might actually get a few more goals. Long, high balls are hardly going to get the best out of Knight.

Funny how these McGhee critics all come out into the sunshine after a defeat but mysteriously disappear back under their rocks after a game like Palace. Nothing like consistency, is there?
Dover said:I knew this season would be a dogfight, and I will be delighted with fouth from bottom at the end of the season. Again, MM has had no real money to spend, when it would appear any player who can put his boots on the right feet is worth a million.
As for Mr. Knight his attitude is absoultley deporable. I have watched him shout and scream at his colleagues for not placing the ball inch perfect to his feet, when all he had to do was run an extra yard or so. A few years ago I would have been perpetually shouting at a player like Leon, but I have been told by my fellow fans that it does not help the team, so I now don't.
For me, our manager is right. I am certain he will be talking o the team, and making all the right noises. Mark, does know the team far better than I do for one.
Call this blind faith or optimisim. We will stay up. Mark McGhee is the best manager we have had since Mickey Adams. And if Leon Knight is to be left out of the squad, so be it.
tadley gull said:Gerbil, I'm sorry but you are talking cobblers. What will keep us up is team spirit and a good manager. If Leon is going to go around destroying that team spirit with his petulance then perhaps he should move on to another team.
He may be a flair player, but we need someone who can score goals, and 3 so far is not a good enough return.

Yup.gerbil said:And that'll be Magoo's job then won't it.
Maybe, maybe not.gerbil said:The way things are going it'll be roughly at the end of April or the beginning of May
Happy Seagull said:Not having Leon in the team doesn't help no, i agree there. But Leon needs to learn to respect McGhee's decisions. Hopefully they'll sort it out during the build up to the Palace match.
