FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
I suspect that was because he was comfortably the most talented footballer on the pitch. Even without trying his class shone through amidst so much mediocrity.

i wouldnt argue with that but it would have been nice to see a little more effort, he hardly got a decent cross all night though, harts delivery from wide was poor as was Robinsons.

Murray and Robinson would have been far more useful up front.

I would have liked to see Murray and Robinson as they haven't had a go yet and, should Forster get an injury/suspension next season they're probably our next choice partnership.
No Virgo

I take it the two trialists from the other night didn't get another 45 mins?

Hmm, I don't buy into this "we can change him from defence to forward all the time, even during the middle of matches." If Virgo starts the season at the back and we're not conceding goals, I GUARANTEE he won't be moved.

But i wouldn't start with Virgo.Has to be Elphick and Hawkins with Virgo warming the bench.Virgo then can cover either defence or ad more power up front

Not much of a game really. I thought Virgo and El-Abd looked pretty reliable. Harty set one up and scored one but still struggled to beat anyone. I thought Robinson was particularly poor. Kane Louis did look lively and the guy who replaced Harty, I think it was Royce looked to have a bit of promise.

We queued for about half an hour for a hot dog and my daughter squeezed hers to take a bite and all her onions covered in ketchup slipped out and landed on some bloke's white canvas shoe. We beat a hasty retreat, we were faster up that touchline than Jakey was all evening.

Dan Royce who replaced Hart on the right looked decent excellent first touch and a fair bit of pace, definately a bit of promise, I dont think that Kane Louis looked that slight looked pacey and looked to run at players and seems to have a decent footballing brain. Loft deserves another go at left back for sure. Sullivan doesn't fill me with confidence neither does the lack of pace displayed by Hawkins. El abd and Thompson were our two best players overall I thought.

Didnt realize that it was Loft wearing the No 3 shirt but must admit he looked ok at times but lost the ball to much. I think against this type of opposition he would be ok in any position. If we haven't signed a full back before the Lewes game I would give him another try. He didnt look at home as much as Haswel did but then that is obvious.
Best player on the field by a mile was Steve Thomson.

Pretty piss poor game, but only a friendly so not too fussed.
Murray really didn't look interested.
Gatts was never in the game.
Hart may have scored one and set the other up but on the general performance is not worthy of a new deal..
Thomson looked good controlled the midfield well and made a couple of good runs.
Still think Fraser is gash.
Gargan shoud have taken one of his chances to score and the other two subs looked lively, 14 certainly had quick feet on him.
Queue at the bar was too big so didn't bother.
