Disappointingly Simon Jordan sticking up for Tuchel….but lacking any knowledge about the injuries/AFCON absentees…..I’m surprised

To be fair though - they have had 6 more games than us in the same period. So clearly that has an impact regardless of size of squad. They also have probably as many injuries as us + AFCON to. But for any manager to give excuses like that is weak. And did Chelsea really need to start with the front 5 that they did in the FA Cup against.... Chesterfield?

Yep agreed….but he made no referral to the respective benches …we had six who hadn’t kicked a ball in the PL…and if they were that knackered why such late substitutes….I bet Werner and Havertz ..Lulu haven’t played much at all etc

Lukaku put more effort running off when subbed than he did in the entire 80 mins he played

That's because he finally was getting away from BDB, he couldn't wait.

On Tuchel, he has so much negative energy about him, it must rub off on the players, not surprising they are struggling with his attitude.

They have only played 2 more than us since Christmas. Stop making excuses for them, Tuchel has no class. Incidentally the 2 extra games were the league cup semis. Maybe he would have preferred not to be in it, or maybe, here's a thought, he could rest established players and give his under 23's a run? Tuchel wants to have his cake and eat it.

2 more in 3 weeks. 5 more in 6 weeks. Whatever anyones opinion is - it is fact they've played a lot more games.

I’ve no time for the man, but he’s got a point on the cancellations.

They had 7 Covid cases and denied a postponement

Others have had games postponed for less

Puts pressure on the rest of the squad.

He’s right to be annoyed at PL

On that point I agree with you and Springal. The PL stuffed up with the whole cancellation thing which has led to unfair and unequal treatment of some clubs.

However, if Tuchel was really genuinely concerned about fairness, he would be promoting the limitation of all the best players going to 6 or so clubs. He only wants fairness in order to utilise the gross absurdity of a $$$ billion dollar squad playing against the likes of little old Brighton.

On the flip side and people are forgetting this - this game was originally scheduled for next month but had to be rearranged due to the Club WC. Presumably both Brighton and Chelsea agreed this date, rather than it being forced.

And they went into this season, having won the CL - knowing they had CL, Club WC, AFCON, ambitions for League Cup, PL title race, etc so should have planned a squad accordingly

Biggest cry baby since…..?

Two of the most pathetic post match interviews I’ve seen after our games. What a classless prick.

On the bus queue for the P&R I was musing what his complaint would be this time. Not quite as dismissive as after the last game (even Mrs Bobkin, who was only showing a passing interest in the game, commented how moody he was!), but still lacking class and respect to the opponent. That bit about celebrating like we'd won, or it being like a cup game was bizarre – around me there was a tinge of disappointment that we couldn't finish them off!

It's like he's done a Mourinho personality change in a fraction of the time. Breath of fresh air to miserable moaner in a matter of months. Champions of Europe? More like CHUMPions of Europe, Amirite? :moo:

In his defence, I imagine he saw games being postpone for Covid and he assumed it would be done fairly so player workloads may not have been an issue.

Chelsea can’t really win, stockpile players and they are the worst thing to happen to football - or they are moaning because they haven’t.

If he was concerned at player workload, did he really need to start Werner, Lukaku, Hudson Odoi, Pulasic, Kovacic against chesterfield in the FA cup 9 days ago?

I’m not sure the two are the same, Bloom could if he wanted to spend 70 million on a striker.

Couldn’t postpone a game.

Why am I defending Chelsea :lolol:

When Mopo was at Spurs he was criticised for doing the same, his point was that these games can be less impact than training, assuming they would be training!

Listening to him recently it doesn't surprise me that his players all moan at each other, make excuses, and seem generally unhappy. The attitude running through the team starts with the coach.

Look at Potter - no blame, no excuses, no dwelling on things, classy, supportive of the players, then look at the teams attitude to the game and to each other.

Starting almost his strongest team in a game where they have nothing to play for (Zenit in the CL) and a strong team against Chesterfield in the FA Cup...

While yes, they've had a lot of games, he is not really making it easy for himself. If you wont play Loftus-Cheek and Barkley instead of Kovacevic and Ziyech when playing against Chesterfield, what right do you have to complain about fatigue really?

I doubt he's even got a hairdryer.

CuCu has one of those 70's crash helmet ones I bet.
